Quickblade22's 222nd post: Unnamed Evil Tower

Post by Quickblade22 »

This is my new tower that I have been working on. After 5 years of having my Evil Castle built, I dismantled it to build a Tower of Evil. I haven't given it a name yet, which I'll probably do some research on. It stands at 75 minifig feet tall, or 22.86 minifig meters tall for my non-American friends. That's calculating a minifig's height to be 6 feet tall, 50 bricks high in total. I don't have any interior shots yet. The thing I like best about it is that it is enclosed and opens with hinge bricks. That style is something that I'm not very good at. A few notes: the roof is studless (thanks to Maedhros), the skull has a crown like structure above it (ala the baricade from Knights Catapult Defense), I still have the dragon roosts on the back, and the flame arch above the balcony. This is also celebrating my 222nd post  Image I'm not quite done with it yet and will be adding interior shots when they're finished. C&C are welcome, just remeber that I'm not Sir Nelson (though I'd like to be right about now  ) or DARKspawn, so nothing too fancy. And heres the link to the gallerywith some neat angle shots: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=296579

This is nice, something one would see on Angband or the Black Gate. It begs me to visualize the surrounding walls manned by some grusome host of evil. I also like the barred "windows" near the bottom. The flame arch is cool as well. Good Job!

Good to see a good old fashioned evil structure. Makes me feel all warm and cozy inside :D

Hehe, agreed :D

That skull is priceless you know. I also really like the red "wall pieces" you made here. A nice homage to the piece that makes up our favourite castles from the 80s ;)

Deliciously evil! Nice work man :) The crown on the skull is definitely my favourite part.

My favourite detail are the gargoyles at the top corners. Do you have a close up of those?

good work. my favorite part is the back, where the dragons have their own little nest or something, that was very interesting to me.lol But really nice job once again.

I love the arrangement of red bricks in the walls along both sides, that give the impression of wall-panel pieces. Simply the novelty of seeing that makes me grin.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm glad that you all seem to like something different about it. This is what the old castle looked like for those who haven't seen it before: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/quick ... _front.jpg

Here's a close up of the gargoyle for Stephan: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/quick ... re_490.jpg

I only managed one interior shot, as my picture taking skills reached critical failure (ie. I rolled a one on my skill check :P ), but here it is: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/quick ... re_493.jpg

I may have decided to name the tower 'Raugel' as it is Sindarian for 'Demon Star', but I'm not sure if I'll stick with it. I was gonna name it 'Tower of Iron Will', but it was taken  . I hope to have interior pics soon, so you guys can give me some ideas for what to put in it. The top floor is already gonna we the wizard's chamber, and the bottom floor is gonna be a forge on one side and a prison on the other. Oh, and the dragons on the back are "Shadow Dragons", what a coincedience. They are more like a war horse than an actual Dragon, as I use the viking dragons for my 'real' dragons.
