Finally beat the deadline. It also appears that the rendering errors on that page were fixed up.

It was available at Zellers, but unlikely there are any sets still in stores.Lost Viking wrote:The set is still not available in Canada, so I assume that it will come out here soon. I still got a copy of the set when I was in the US.

Well, it certainly is a popular set. My two copies arrived, and I built one last night. Will definitely want more of these some day.

I understand that there are a lot of people wanting this set, and many others wanting sets just as, or more, popular, but seriously LEGO bump up the production. Looking at the site it's almost like half the sets are sold out or back ordered!
A few years back this was a much smaller problem, now if I want a set I'd have to order it the day it's available, if that would even work. I'm not so sure the production and shipping relocation is working half as well as they would like...
Maybe I should address this in Dear LEGO, but as it pertains to this set heavily, it's just as pertinent here.

The thing is though, this only seems to be a real problem in the US- looking around all the other countries the set is still readily available, even here in the UK. Most interestingly, it's still a new set in all these places too, so compared to the US problem it is a little surprising there's still plenty of stock.wunztwice wrote:I understand that there are a lot of people wanting this set, and many others wanting sets just as, or more, popular, but seriously LEGO bump up the production. With the US having had the set released and sold a few weeks ago though, maybe it isn't all that surprising that there's a shortage. Isn't the definitive and simple answer that there's not a lack of sets per se, but rather, an interest from TLG to sell what stock they have to other countries? In this respect it's only fair that these countries finally get the option to purchase a set that's already been released elsewhere.
I'm pretty sure though that seeing this constant status of sold-out, TLG will be focusing on re-stocking their allocation for the US, to meet the demand that is obviously there.

I fully agree that all the other countries should have full and ready access to the set. My point (perhaps not well put before) is that recently there seems to be an awful lot of sets on backorder and sold out status, maybe LEGO needs to step up production. There are certain themes which just seem to need more of certain sets.
If LEGO were to anticipate this on sets that were sure to sell quickly there would be less backorder, and more ordering from the company.

Also under that vein, I went to Target the other day and found a lone Dwarve's Mine hiding in the back. It was clearly a Christmas return judging by the traces of wrapping paper. I rung it up and it came to $59.99!
The customer service lady told me it was on "sale" until just recently.

Supply and demand. Instead of increasing supply, TLC chose to increase the price to reduce demand.
They took action as we all hoped. Just not the action we expected. Probably a smart business move though.
