I saw 3 impulse sets in Target today (North Carolina) - The Knight, The Policeman and the Mars Mission Robot. They were not in the LEGO aisle however. Instead they were with other small impulse type toys in the Easter Candy section.

The bad news is that they were priced at $3.99.

Yep, confirmed today that Target has their you-build-your-Easter-basket-yourself seasonal section has the LEGO Impluse sets. They are labeled as LEGO Spring Assortment and sell for $3.99 plus tax. This is for the USA (Tennessee), actual mileage may vary. So far it is the same assortment (Knight, Space/Robot, Police K9 and Firefighter).

I found the impulse sets at a Target in Austin, Texas as well. They were in the Easter isle. I would have never looked there had it not been for this thread!

Brickset user bmwlego posted a coupon that should take some of the sting off that price hike. The coupon will give you $5 off any toy purchase of $25 or more. I'm tempted to pick up the Knight, even though I'm working on collecting the 2007 sets and I like how, if you have all the 2007 Castle sets, your skeletons and knights are perfectly evenly matched. (Yeah, that's my OCD talking.) But I don't know of any other store that normally carries the impulse sets...and it would be one less thing I'd have to pay shipping on from SAH...hmm.
I collect LEGO themes that start with "C." And Pirates. I call them "Corsairs."

Now that the battlepacks are out, it would be interesting to see which one wins out in polls. I actually like "The Knight" slightly better right now. The reason being that I use the armor to outfit my blue Vikings from the chess sets and have an even larger army.

Though I might add that once my blue Vikings are outfitted, I think I'll prefer the battlepacks. Besides... I like the original torso designs better than the gold neckband of this torso.
The term "Hobby" allows you to explain to your relatives why you still play with toys...

I've looked at two Target stores in Michigan... one store has the impulse sets only with the Easter stuff, the other has the impulse sets in both the Easter stuff and Lego section.
I love 'em. I got the Mars robot... it's pretty cool. My wife thinks he's cute.
I want to get a handful of the police officer... can't have too many dogs, you know!
