That was just too funny...
...yah, our bad, its all because we've got that big-ol'-bad MegaBolks operating out of Canada that we pay the price, the 'higher price!"
Too funny... but honestly, that price truly hurts those of us who are genuinely interested in that set and wanted multiples of.
(I, myself, seriously wanted at least 15 copies!)
 And P.S. Just a quick side note, isn't Jojo, who is from Germany, just the best writer... y'know, i realize a lot of Germans speak and write perfectly in English, but i'm just always impressed just how perfect grammatically Jojo composes his responses!

I emailed LEGO asking about the pricing, and got this response.
I think it will be a few years before Canadians will see a price drop, as long as our dollar stays strong.Dear Mr West
Thank you for your email regarding the prices of LEGO® products.
Due to differences in economics around the world, product prices are established globally for each specific country or market area. There may be many variables including taxes, exchange rates and country laws which can affect the market value.
Suggested retail prices for our product assortment are determined well in advance. We rely on professional studies of the dollar fluctuations over a multi year horizon to determine the suggested retail price which will not change during the product assortment year. The suggested retail price of our products has historically not fluctuated every time the value of the dollar rises or falls to maintain an annual harmonized price. Our website and our catalogue reflect the set suggested retail prices.
However, comments from our consumers are extremely important to us and please be assured that I have forwarded your remarks to Management.
Please do not hesitate to contact us again if we can be of further assistance. We wish you many more happy hours of creative building with LEGO brand toys in the years to come.

I wouldn't ever expect a price drop from LEGO. That being said, I am somewhat bothered by the fact that there doesn't seem to be alot of correlation between set pricing. I mean, if one set is more expensive in Canada than it is in Europe or Australia, shouldn't ALL the sets be priced similarly? Conversely, the same thing could be said about other regions. Why do Australians get a good price on this set while being robbed on the Millennium Falcon?The_Vanquished wrote:

LEGO's pricing has always confused me. The fact that I can get the Falcon in Canada for alot less than my Aussie neighbours, yet they can get these army builders for a better price has never made sense to me.

I really like the battlepack. I think it has a great assortment of figs (the good guys). I'm not much into the skellies but I bought one. At least it came with the best skellies.
Is it just me or would anybody else had rather seen a horse instead of one of the "extra" knights? Not really complaining... I love the assortment, but I really would like some more mounts.

The term "Hobby" allows you to explain to your relatives why you still play with toys...

5% GST + 8 % PST = 13%. In fact, in Ontario we have exactly 13% tax on every dollar.

Hey I just got my battlepacks in the mail and I love TLC. They sent me an extra pack of crownies! Since I put my order in at an official lego store S@H shipped to my house for free! woo hoo!
I like the weapon assortment included in the crownies as there are no repeats of what was included in the chess set and only the spear is the same with the knight set. I personally used all 3 to build up a huge numbers of crownies.
