Dwarf's Mine?
Do you think the Dwarf's Mine set is worth the money? Does it come with good parts? The main structure looks a bit empty....... how is it?
It's not much a mine more like an entrance to a mine..... what do you think?
Edit: I forgot to ask..... are the mine carts made of one piece or multiple pieces?

Re: Dwarf's Mine?
The Mine Carts are brick built out of doors and various pieces, very clever design, it's a fantastic set it's visually appealing from front and back and absolutely filled with details, playability, it's just a stylish set thats a bargain for the money, people would pay $80 for it, it has as many pieces as the $80 troll warship in fact. 4 dwarves who all look amazing each one completely unique look even a different beard and helm for each, attacking trolls, a giant troll, plenty of equipment and accessories for all!Lewa Rocks wrote:Do you think the Dwarf's Mine set is worth the money? If you look around on these forums a bit you'll see that many people consider Dwaves Mine not just an amazing bargain but the best set of 2007/2008 castle and have bought multiples.
P.S. If you need help making MOCs, making posts, or don't know what to do next, please, let me know! I'm here to help!

Though the merits of this set seems to have been talked to death.
It is a good set. A lot of figures (new figures at that) with nice parts and new parts.
And, there is a reason why we have a dozen threads whining about is availability.
The finished model doesn't really look much like a mine, but it still has some nice play factors and looks decent.

"It also looks great with your Indiana Jones minifigure running out the large double doors holding a piece of golden ore."
Best use of time traveling Dr. Jones to date! Now that is a vignette that needs to be made. Nothing confuses trolls and dwarves than Indy, Short Round, and his pilfering archeological ways.

I just got the dwarfs mine yesterday. I can't comment on it's price since prices here in Romania are crazy, and this thing cost me 110$. I got the box and first thing I noticed after opening it is that there's a lot of empty space inside the box, the small bags of parts can easily fit in half or even a third of the box. The finished model is smaller than it looks in pictures. As for parts, it does have some interesting things and I had my ten minutes of fun with the ore/gold transport feature throughout the set. In the end, I'm personally not very happy with the set, even if it does have those 4 dwarfs, but this might be because of the price being so unfair. I was let down by the fact that the orcs have the older helmets, the ones the skellies used, ..but then again it's not like the orcs have an organized army with matching armor. I was more pleased with the tower raid set, which was worth it's money even here.

This set is incredible! I now have 6 of them. I know they are available in TRU stores and at lego stores just starting this last week. Online I have not found any as of today but my best bet would be TRU online eventually... Bricklink stores are selling them in the USA as well but marked up of course.

Well, I finally caved in. I went to Toys R Us and picked up a dwarfs mine (and a troll assault wagon)
I must say, this set is probably on my top 10 favorite LEGO sets ever. It is a really fun build. And I can already tell I am going to get addicted to the trolls and dwarfs.
Therefor, I think dwarfs mine is worth the money.
