I just found a castle that a 13 year old says he built. However this castle is at Legoland California. That's pretty sad that they didn't even recognize it.

I think that Rocko is actually plagerising a 13 year old kid and trying to shift the blame onto him.
It is sad that kids are doing this, though I believe that it is the parents' fault for not bringing up their children right. Tough the LEGO website is full of imature bratty kids which is why I avoid it just as I avoid MOCPages. But LEGO actually refusing to remove plagerised pictures is just outright %*$&%)?@*!!!

Getting MOC's from 13 years olds is 'in' right now. I mean, making it yourself is soooo yesterday!RebelRock wrote:

Plagiarism is quite common among tweens and those of low self esteem. I see this problem as being similar to cheating in online games. These are basically your typical fanboys but without the actual skills. So what's one to do? Cheat (or plagiarize from someone) to give the "appearance" of 1337. the good news is that the problem with tweens goes away when they are older. Mostly as a result of improving intellectual skills or dexterity. The brain isn't mature until around age 22 for males. So eventually they will become good through practice. If an older guy decides to plagiarize, then it's more of an issue.

Anyone hear of Saber-Scorpion? (The guy with sigfig of red and black scorpions?) Anywho: A 13 had taken his picture of Spartans (Halo) and was using it win a LEGO Mars Mission Human Forces Contest. It is sad to see kids not trying it themselves, especially on the site that encourages self creation. I did some looking around and I've seen great works, but I bet if I look back and compare to what you guys have (in Brickself, etc..) I'm sure I'll find Plagiarism.

Natelite,
I do not know if they all grow out of it. From recent notices and news it seems that workplace ethics is at an all time low. I know that it has also become a large issue at colleges and universities indicating that this problem has become wide spread and likely starts in youth. Much easier to steal the answers or copy a neighbour than study and hard work. When I was a high school student (yeah a while ago) I remember a number of people in one class were suspended then a few expelled for stealing a teachers assistants answer book… Every year we give out a huge book full of University policies and one aspect that has grow the last few years greatly is on plagiarism. One of the few offences that will get you ousted very quickly. In many ways it has gotten easier to plagiarize people’s works as they are online and accessible. I am sure in some cases kids just do it for attention and lack of development but I was taught not to steal other peoples things as a kid by all sorts of people-parents, grandparents, teachers, TV characters like Kermit the Frog, Mr. Rogers etc.- and so far so good...

That kid even took Castlebuilders name! Those little brats, I hate to say I'm on that website. I feel like canceling my membership. BTW, I'm their age, so could you guys lower the age you're talking about to ten? I'm guessing that's around how old they are.
Woe is me, woe is me, I used to have a hamster tree. Then it got eaten by a newt and now I have no cuddly fruit.

There is nothing wrong about being young firebender dude, in fact most of the older gents likely wish they had some of the advantages of youth still.... A persons actions are not usually determined by their age, though it happens. Don't take it personally, it was not directed at you. Maybe you could contact CS and ask if there is anything you can do as a member?

Considering three years ago, I was also a ruthless MOC stealer, so I have a sense on how this guy may feel. Firebender, no one is looking down upon you. When I was thirteen, I joined CC. If you act maturely around other members, no one will look down upon you.FirebenderDude2 wrote:I just contacted them and yelled my head off. That's the in-advantage of being young, you make rash actions
Instead of yelling at the staff, try negotiating with them. That will make you seem more mature. If this particular person stole your name, well, I wouldn't give a crap at all. I wouldn't call it the most original name ever. I mean, he probably watched Avatar.
To tell you all the truth, I think we should just ignore this kid for the time being. If he goes further, try to contact him, and politely (but firmly) ask him to stop. Let him know, that if those images are copyrighted, he's breaking the law. (He may use the "I'm in another country' excuse. In that case, you people are on your own.

Wow P.I. again, you really need to read the whole post. The aforementioned link also lead indirectly to a user named castlebuilder100 who was posting castlebuilder100's creations. Firebenderdude2 misunderstood this and thought it was a kid stealing castlebuilder100's creation under castlebuilder100's name. It is our very own castlebuilder100 in this case though. Firebenderdude2's name wasn't stolen though...Prince Imdol wrote:If this particular person stole your name, well, I wouldn't give a crap at all. I wouldn't call it the most original name ever. I hope that makes things a bit more clear for you, cause you seem to be on a completely different page here.
Between plotting to kill you all and chasing balls of yarn, I also build MOCs
