WORST Army Builder?

Post by LordZode »

Everyone is always discussing what is the best army builders for certain factions, some have said that Dwarves Mine is a poor Army builder but I think the variety of accessories and minifigs are quite good for the price.

Personally, I think the weakest army builders (Yes they can be large sets) are http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.as ... 194&cn=473 Skeleton Tower - 2 of the Minifigs are Princess and Wizard which are of limited use in multiples.

And the other would be http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.as ... 194&cn=473 - seriously who would use this as an army builder? That makes no sense.

What do you think are some of the worst army builders in history? High priced sets with a low minifig count or specialized figs?
P.S. If you need help making MOCs, making posts, or don't know what to do next, please, let me know! I'm here to help! ;)

That's hard to say since LEGO provided us with minfig packs (To list a few:1, 2,3,4, and 5), which in my opinion, are the best to make an army. Therefore, the other sets are worse army builders.

This is kind of a silly topic. But here are my choices:

http://guide.lugnet.com/set/1094 (unless you want an army of JT's)

http://guide.lugnet.com/set/4954 (or any other similar set, because they come with no figures)

:P

Besides Harry Potters, I think JT is the fig I have most of. I've got plenty, and a similar problem seems to be developing with Indiana Jones now too.

It's depends on what your limits on army building are....

I would vote TheKnight as a weal set. For 2 dollars more you can get a catapult with 2 figs

You could at least build an army of fairies with that set.

Okay yes this can be a very silly topic if you talk about building an army of Johnny Thunders or "army building" with sets that contain no minifigs... LOL.

How about largest sets with fewest minifigs - in CASTLE theme - (not green grocer etc).

@ Steve - an army of fairies... :D lol... and TransPink chests

Yeah, I wouldn't call a set an army builder unless it was small and had at least 3-4 figs.

And yeah, I've got tons and tons of Indy figs, thats what finally tipped me over the edge in deciding to open a brinklink store.

Well, what got me thinking on the matter was that people were having to use such large sets as "Dwarves Mine" as an army builder, and others had commented on the high price/fig ratio of some other sets as well.

If you were really interested, you could just get a list of all the Castle sets (or, if you're less ambitious, just the currently available ones), then divide the MSRP by the number of figures.

Of course you may have to consider peripheral issues like equipment and shields.

I remember seeing that one brickshelf. I think they were Australian forces, or something. Good example of a large, good looking army.
