That depends on what you have (sets vs. pieces) and how quickly you want to make your money.

Ebay is the quickest but Bricklink might get you more over the long run.

How big is your collection?

The way to make the most money is to rebuild your sets and sell them individually, probably on Ebay.

The quickest way (selling your collection as a pile of pieces) would not get as much money. But then you don't have to do much work.

If you let me know how many pounds you have, I might be able to give you an estimate of how much it might go for. I buy lots like this on a fairly regular basis, so I can probably get pretty close. Of course there are variables, such as quality of the pictures you post, what sets are there, whether or not you have the manuals, etc.

I have seen relatively small lots go for a lot because of the quality of the pics, description, and sets. On the other hand, I recently bought 18 lbs of Lego for real cheap (less than a hundred) because they posted one blurry picture of the Lego and one picture of 25 instruction manuals. It ended up having 18+ classic space sets in it that are worth around $500.

Hope this helps,
Josh

@Josh

Congrats on that deal, I am super jealous. :)

@castlebrickman

If you do decide to sell your collection on ebay, be sure to be descriptive when listing the items. Including the set name, number, theme name, etc will increase visibility. Visibility= more viewers = more bids = $

You can always sell mostly complete sets in lots. Just make sure to clearly state how much of the set is complete. If you take time to build each set and buy the missing pieces, you will make much more. This could take more time and effort than you are willing to invest.

The URL is indeed "piratebricks", but it looks like someone needs to update their DNS settings, or update their website~ :wink:

PirateBricks has been gone for some time now. Since castlebrickman is getting out of the hobby, I highly doubt that it will be updated. Eurobricks pirate forum is the place for pirates now.

Hope this helps,

Ah, right you are. That link to the Eurobricks forum was a nice distraction though. :)
