I was told at the Tyson's Corner Lego Store last week, that the pirates wouldn't be available until Dec 2. I don't care if TRU has them, you cannot get loyalty stamps at TRU.
How many books do you own?

I'm disapointed by the low number of parts in the new pirate ship 6243 (592 parts) compared to the old 6285 (865 parts).

I just raided the nearest Toy R Us and they had all the pirates but the ship. Plus a bunch of discontinued sets and stuff you can no longer get at Lego Stores. Now it's back to making a list...

I was wondering.
Is it true that the pirate sets are showing up very early in stores? Or is it every year around mid November?
I know the US get most of the new sets before Christmas, but it seems to me it's earlier than other years.

My local TRU (Harrisburg, PA) had all of the new Pirates (including the ship) except for the impulse sets.

TRU in Beaumont, TX had the Cannon Battle. I bought two of them. Now I only want a few of the Soldier Impulse sets, trade for a few minifigs, and I will be done!

The Pirate Soldier Impulse sets... are they only being found in LEGO Stores? I've not seen any of those in TRU, and at $4.99 (price for their other Impulse sets), I'm not sure I want to. The Cannon Battle set is only $5.99 and has more than double the bits.

I think it seems early, but that could be the economy forcing LEGO to ramp up things to avoid the post-Xmas slump that will likely be deeper this coming year than in the past. I usually don't see things until three weeks away from Xmas here in Tennessee... but then we are always the last ones in the continental USA to get anything so that could be a sign that distribution is better for TRU?

No, it just sounds like they're not everywhere yet: one of the two TRUs around me, one didn't have any Impulses and the other had at least half a dozen of each. Just a matter of time.

I hope either Wal-Mart or Target gets them soon. Target has the Fall impulse sets in the stocking stuffer aisle by the Christmas decorations, but I didn't see either of the Pirate impulse sets.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know.
We usually get the sets in the beginning of the year, and sometimes in Germany after Christmas. But only at TRU. I think TRU is big enough to get the sets first or something. But I thought, if the US is getting them early, maybe we (Europe) will too.

Sadly enough we only will get the sets in March, so I think maybe I'll spend a little money at bricklink :)

Oohh, I've always wanted to find some Impulse sets somewhere besides the Lego Store. Thanks for that info!!

Toys R Us Chattanooga TN has all of them now... just not the impulse sets. I'm hoping for a Christmas present this year so I'll not be buying them. Yet.
