CCCVI Secret Hideout Entry - The grand hall of the Bear Claw

Post by shmails »

This is my entry into the Secret Hideout category:

The Grand Hall is the winter meeting place for the Bear Claw Clan. Hidden under a waterfall, behind a dragontooth-clad door, the clan enjoys the spoils of a prosperous summer of pillaging. Even the viking out for a fishing expedition have no idea of the merry time below their feet.

This is the largest MOC I have ever finished. I hope you like it!

great icy and snowy landscape! the shields inside are great too, that's not an official bear mold, right?

But i don't recognize the torsos on the clan-guys?

Great MOC anyways! I like how "barbarian" the "Bear Claw Clan" feel and how nice they are as an "northish" fraction along with vikings.

Thanks guys! The bear is official, the torsos on the minifigures are custom designs. Check out the "Clan of the Bear Claw" thread in the castle customs section for close-up pictures of the set. Thanks again!

I really like how you made it such a realistic cave. It's cool to see you put the Bear Claw Clan in their own hideout.

Great job! The decals for the figures are excellent, like something Lego would release. The rock walls in the cave are very realistic! Keep it up!

I agree, this custom faction of yours really has the right look to be in a snowy icy place. The cave on the inside and rock with glacier on the outside are very well done indeed :) good job!
Between plotting to kill you all and chasing balls of yarn, I also build MOCs

Just came across your photos on brickshelf.
I really like the snowy and icy landscape. :)
I actually was under the impression the waterfall was a glacier.
Is it ment to be flowing or frozen up?
kind regards,

Teddy

Thanks, the water was meant to resemble an icy river waterfall. I did not see it as a glacier until the comments here, but both work well! If I had my way, it would have been bigger with more icicles, but I ran out of dark bley pieces twice and had no more white clips to hold the ice.

MrTS: Thanks, I wanted to paint it gold, but that was against the rules.

Aliencat: Yea, I have had a lot of fun with this clan. I may do a few more MOC's with these guys because it is something different than English countryside-style castle building. Thanks!

Muskey15: Thanks, I tried to use elements from LEGO designs to create this new faction.

Brik Masta: Thanks, I actually did a lot that cannot be seen, under the stairs and walkway is all the storage, but the pictures did not come out well.

Darkarden: Thanks, I used every white flat tile I owned, so that is as icy as I could get it.

Thanks again to everyone for your kind words. This was a very long build, done in the midst of an awful family crisis as a distraction, so it means a lot that you like it. Good luck to all in the contest and the coming year!
