I have no clue. I would assume that they would work anywhere. Only one way to find out, though. You can simply put something in your shopping cart, submit your mailing and billing information, then apply the promo code. You can check and see if it works two steps before actually authorizing the payment.

You're lucky. I was there yesterday, and they didn't even have a display. The clerk said that she'd already gotten several queries about the item, but they hadn't received a shipment yet. I'm confused. :(

That seems odd that they would display the set before having it in stock. I know out here at MOA we will put it on display early next week, but not until we get it in and put it out on the shelf.

I got my UPS tracking number from LEGO S@H today. My market village should be here on Monday. I'll tell everyone what my thoughts are on it once I get it, if anyone's interested.

I went to my local (GA) Lego store today. They did not have 10193, said they hoped it would arrive in a delivery Monday. I asked if they could do a "shop and ship" on it, they checked the computer, and they could.

So for anyone who goes to a Lego store and finds they don't have it yet, or they've sold out - remember to ask about "shop and ship".

Just placed an order for one a couple minutes ago on S@H.

As of right now, 10193 is #5 on the top seller list and rising steadily.
I doubt an expensive set like this could take #1 but maybe....just maybe it will!

I just did a "shop and ship" at the Woodfield store in Schaumburg, IL today. For those that don't know (as I didn't until today), if a LEGO store doesn't have something in stock that they normally should, i.e. anything at S@H as I understand it, they will order it for you from S@H and ship it for free since they were out of stock!

I thought this was awesome :)

This set is sweet, I was lucky enough to pick one up in store at Arden Fair in Sacramento. I live in San Francisco and our local San Mateo store wasnt getting it until Monday. I was headed up to see the future in-law family in Sacramento so I decided to stop by the store. They had only 3 left at noon yesterday.

It took my fiance and I about 3 hours to put it all together. Definitely a nice set worth the $100!

The store employees are drooling over this Village so watch out for saliva marks.

the difference is caused by the silly shipping charges. aussie has shipping cost from A$25 up to A$45. only make sense to order large bulk orders, which will favor large exclusive sets from S@H. most orders are above A$250.

on the other hand, the states has shipping from $5 to $25 (and 5% of order beyond $500). there's also the us only S@H coupon ($5 off $20 or $30) so it make sense to have smaller orders since there's no cap to shipping cost. the coupon also favors buyers making smaller orders to take advantage of more frequent discounts. the average order size is most likely to fall between the $20-$50 band.

eg:
i just made a super huge order from aussie S@H and my shipping was only A$45. :D

at first i thought of sharing an order with anyone from the sydney metro area but couldn't find anyone and figured...wth...i won't buy a single order and get charged like A$30 for shipping. screw that...and went berserk getting lots of discounted sets. total order came to A$1250. of course the order included lots of exclusive large sets like sandcrawler, mtt, mmv, etc.

mmv seems cheap now but i'm sure when one of the retailers (myer or dj by my guess) wants to sell the set the price will increase to A$180-200. we have seen that happened already to GG, CC, VW and town plan.

Yeah, that would be nice. I'll have the instructions tomorrow, but I don't have a scanner. The best I could do would be high-res digital photos. But that probably wouldn't be very good, though. :(

Agree with your post absolutely also the lack of Lego outlets shops in Aust and the high postage costs seems to favour the larger sets being no. 1 like when the Giant Chess set was released.

I was also thinking/hoping myer or dj might carry this set but like you posted it would be a higher price and even then it would likely sell out before the next lot of halve yearly sales in June/July 2009.

It makes sense to not order often from SAH but save up and get large orders.

Im buying one for MISB collection, One for me to buid and display and one for my daugter who will likely custiomise.
