Has TLG done that in the past?

Richard,

Yeah still hoping it comes tomorrow. Stupid tracking still has not been updated since Saturday. I called TLC and they said we had to wait till the 9th for anything else.

Pluto,

They did it with the Dwarf Mine last year so it happens.

yes they did it with dwar4f mine, BUT

Remember dwarf mine went from a limited to a universal release as well. SO perhaps the low price was part of the target deal for the exclusive.

Since 10193 is not going to a larger release, i do not see this happenng.

yes, but you are forgetting 7237 police station. when it came out it was retailing for $50. after 1 year, TLC raised it to $70.

there were a few more sets which also increased price that weren't target exclusive. i think the popularity of DM made the price increase visible to most...but it has happen with other sets as well.

Another reason for price increases can be attributed to the size of the production run. I remember 7905 Building Crane was US$50 when it first came out, but when the first, larger production run sold out, they made a second batch. There were fewer made in the second batch so they had to increase the prices to US$70 or so in order for the set to remain "profitable".

Remember, when the production machines are making parts for set X, they aren't making parts for set Y (which is why sets from a particular year try to share as many common parts as possible)...

Received mine yesterday, put some of it together last night and finished the rest tonight. I was totally and completely impressed with the whole thing. The selection of parts is great, the details are fantastic, and I love the minifigs. I couldn't figure out what the brown carrots were until I got to the end of book 1, pretty funny!

My only two gripes are that the box was pretty smashed up, but none of the pieces were broken. That's more UPS's fault than anything. Also one of the dark brown "spyglass" pieces was missing and somehow I ended up with a gold one instead. I tried going through the customer service online and they must not have 10193 entered into their system yet to report missing pieces. The page said it couldn't find the set, so I had to manually explain what happened.

Seems like a number of people have been having problems with missing pieces from the MMV, I've bought tons of stuff from S@H and only ever had this happen once before (although they were very good about sending me the missing pieces with no questions asked).

Overall, I'm extremely pleased with it and it was well worth the money spent.

Lets hope. This is by far the best castle set in several years.

If you can get it done in and hour or two, you've got some skills. Even with help. Happy building.

I ordered mine through Shop & Ship last Monday, and still haven't gotten it. Should I be worried?

Last Monday as in 2 days ago? If so, no, because it's now on back order. You can call Lego to check on your shipment though, or send them an email.

No, last Monday as in December 29. They said 3 to 8 business days, and I know there's been a weekend and a holiday in the interim, but I got an e-mail that they had shipped it the day after I ordered it. That seems like a long time to be in transit.

I know where I live 3-8 bus. days means 8-12 bus. days.

But somehow I get the sense that posts regarding shipping isn't exactly the point of this set discussion board.
