The light and dark grey combo is nice as well. Good design, especially how the towers are tilted to an different angle. Nice work.

A few more pictures added

I got some more parts to play with the curtain walls and such but not everything that I currently need to finish up. Since Lego doesnt have any "dark bley" 1 x 6 x 2 arches I am trying to make due with 1 x 6 x 1 dark bley (when they arrive) for the door archways and some little dots to help dress it up some.

I got another package in the mail today so I can finish up a bit more of the walls less the inverted slopes (wihch I have found are very hard to find in light bley) for the crenellations.

Okay, I have been slowly chiseling away at the various sections of the front 2/5 of this mighty castle's fortifications and I am nearing the finished product. I'll have some updated pictures posted later this evening. I've gone back through all the walled sections to toss in a more worn look to the exterior. I have counted 15,000 bricks ordered for this project thus far and I estimate that at least 10,000 have been used so far.

I am curious to know if anybody has any interesting ideas for a brick built portculis. If not, I might just end up going with a gate instead as it would be a bit easier to construct.

Stay tuned for more! :)

In thinking about how to do this(I haven't attempted it or seen if this'll even work) I'd build it using some 1x plates & tiles. Have the plates go down the height of your portcullis w/ the tiles going across. If you want a SNOT & flat looking portcullis, then fill in the gaps on the plates with tiles. Finally, so you can minimize the amount of brick sliding and can keep it slim, use Image down the sides. Unless I am mistaken, it should fit in the grove for the crowny portcullis grove brick.

Im hoping that I'll have this whole thing done by the next great Classic Castle Contest. It'll be too bad that only 3 pictures can be used though, leaves a lot I have in mind out.

Stay tuned for more. :)
