Collectable Minifigures (Sold Out?)

Post by Athos »

Check out this little poster from eurobricks:

http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.p ... opic=35840

Of particular note to CCC people should be the Ninja and the Robin Hood figures. The adventurers, cheerleader, indian and zombie also look promising.

It sounds as if they will be random parts in the bag, so as to be a bit like baseball card collecting. You won't know what you're going to get, until you open the bag.

Whitefang's review of all the figures:

http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.p ... opic=41524***

***EDIT*** I spoke with a worker at the Sacramento Lego store today and she said they had completely sold out of series one and would not be getting anymore. She said series two would be out in a few months, but did not have an exact date yet. TRU also said they had sold out and weren't getting anymore.

Don't forget the caveman - he could easily become a dwarf, barbarian or similar type. :D

Those are great. Looks like I will be buying a sealed case of those polybags if that is possible.

:woo: These look nice! (Dark Tan Fedora too!!) And a few long-overdue theme returns as well... Could this be LEGO's answer to the AFOL/TFOL polls?
All hail the (kinda) return of forestmen!
Planning on spending most of my 2010 LEGO money on these,

*runs off to stash away some money for June*

The forestmen fig is my favorite! I just really hope those aren't the cheap figs, especially if I'll be forced to pay a high price for them. :(

God bless!

These look most interesting...Very nice, very nice. Thanks for sharing, Athos.

My question is...will they indeed not be marked? Will we be buying a random fig? It'd be annoying to want, say, some adventurers, ninjas, cheerleaders, forestmen, et cetera, and all you get is cavemen or something...

Hmm. I guess we'll see.
God bless,

The nurse, cheerleader, clown, spaceman, robot, caveman, zombie and Robin Hood all have my wheels turning the most. From the word on the street I hear, LEGO will mass release these to retail stores (not sure if they are just to LEGO stores or not yet) in June 2010 and then discontinue the first 16 for a second wave that will arrive in August 2010. They will be random polybags, containing the unique figure with accessories, and not marked which they are. The goal is to feed the Minifigure frenzy of interest, provide a unique product and test the waters of collectible random impulse purchases.

Bottom line is that Bricklink is going to burn out.

BTW, we may need to keep an eye to constructing a Collectible Minifigure Trade topic. :tasty:

Hopefully it won't just be at LEGO stores. I can't imagine so; you'd probably make less money that way.

Darned collectables!

The worst thing about these fis that the figs look absolutely fantastic. Seeing the forestman makes you wish that they would just dig deep and bring back the forestmen sets in the near future. The thing is, if these guys are randomly placed in bags I can just see myself getting 10x that guy in the skeleton shirt  !!! I want a number of these, but a few are definitely a bit lackluster.

Is it just me or does the nurse have a new hairpiece?

These are too cool! I wonder whether the randomness of the bags will be a 1:1 proportion or if there will be a 1000 nurses and only 10 clowns or forestmen? That is how other companies do the random impulse bag (I cannot tell you how many snorkin' labbits my wife has). Dang, I may have to hold onto my xmas gift cards until the summertime. Thanks for the link to the pics!

It looks like a slightly different design of the normal ponytail hairpiece.

I'd probably want most of these figures...Some of them I'd want many multiples of. The problem is, you don't know what you're getting.

Wow. I see several things in there I'd like (the ninja, the caveman, the forester, and of course the zombie). And there are a few that I might get just for a few parts (like the cheerleader's hair).
