Slot Weijenaard - CCCVII brick castle

Castle Weijenaard is a dutch style brick castle inspired by several dutch and flemish castles and castell coch.

It looks very Dutch, great job capturing that look!
That was my main goal for this castle, and i'm very content with the way it turned out.

I meant to comment on this the other day, but got distracted. I really like the use of the different browns and reds to make the brick-work. My favorite part is the detail put into the windows at the top of the towers. The guys jumping off the bridge and swimming in the moat cracked me up a bit.

Brown and dark red look really stunning, and the green shutters provide a lovely contrast to the walls. This is a really innovative take on the Brick Castle category and I love it! :D

More than anything else, I love that the brown proves to be such a viable colour for a brick castle. This category really goes a long way in showing just what a castle can look like. It's wonderful to see so many amazing castles that work well in these unique colours. Hopefully those of you with large amounts of red and brown in your collections are starting to take notice.
