Castle of the Order of Black Falcons - CCC VII

Post by kris kelvin »

My entry for Brick Castle category.
Castle was mostly inspired by castles of Teutonic Knights
Enjoy :)

That looks awesome Kris. Love the brick-work and wood-work. The arched bridge also caught my eye, very well done. Would love to see more pictures of the interior if you are able to post them.

I have to say I love the colors as well. I like the use of the red pieces over white/grey, it really gives it that brick feel. I also have to say I love the Caravan and the whole model seems just the right size for a great castle and enough landscape for plenty to be going on outside the castle. Great Work!

If you can build something out of LEGO and make not look like LEGO, that's a good thing!

Favorite brick castle :D Love the brick, it realy seems distinct in your creations with the dark red dark grey and brown. Favorite parts are the carriage and the way you sculpted the bricks around the sloped roof. I also like all the figs too. Very nice, I feel inspired now :spin:

Wow, this is amazing! I really like all the design work on here, from landscape to architecture.

I am new to MOCs, so can I ask how you make the bricks stand out like bricks and mortar on the walls? If it's a trade secret, I understand. :)

Depending on the exact effect for which you're looking, you might want to think about tiles combined with some of these bricks or these bricks.

It`s TIP-TOP-SECRET. But today I`m in good mood so I will tell you. I`m calling this "marakoeschtra wall" (although marakoeschtra denies that he is an author) and here you can see how exactly this wall is built.

I`m using "Headlights" and plates instead of "Brick, Modified 1 x 1 with Studs on 2 Sides" because it1s cheaper :)

I have to say Kris, your work always looks so clean, so well designed, and so well built. This creation is no exception, rather a wonderful example. You have a very distinct style that really stands out to me. I love the castle, and the whole scene. To point out one thing would take away from the overall feel, which is so nice!

That's funny 'cause i was gonna say say the same thing...

I wanted to post the words: "just...wow..."

But i didn't 'cause i wanted to offer more input, however that statement just sums up perfectly how i feel.

Honestly, just ... WoW ...
