Interesting article. Very informative. I always like it when Lego makes the news. Thank you for the link. Happy holidays. EDIT: OH! You're the guy who makes Travel with Johnny Thunder! Great photography! I found that sight by accident once, I was impressed. Keep up the great work!

The AFOL told him eh?- adult fans of Lego (AFOL, as they're known). The AFOL told him Lego is a unique creative material -
As a member of The AFOL, I say that it is good to follow our orders. You do not want the AFOL getting mad. We have people in every major government and company in the world. We have resources and intellegence beyond your imagination. If you so much as sneeze, the AFOL will know about it.

Shouldn't the word in the first line read "reversal" instead of "rehearsal". That would make a lot more sense to me.

I found this part to be funny:
P.S. I like your Xmas avatar, Robin Hood.
Steve[Boys] also have very strong views on objects made of transparent Lego, as we found with the energy crystals eaten by the rock monsters in Power Miners. If it's transparent it has magical powers, apparently.

I got a kick out of that too. When I was a kid I was really into space and all the trans-red/yellow/blue/green pieces were kept separately because they were really important lasers of various levels of potency.Athos wrote:I found this part to be funny:

But on topic, that is an interesting read, thanks for sharing. I think the number of "The AFOL's" who have come back to Lego recently is a strong testament to the company doing something right.

Priceless quote, and 100% true. I remember when everything transparent may as well have been a diamond for how mesmerizing and valuable it was to me. The magical power is making you want it NOW NOW NOW until your parents buy it just to shut you up >_>;If it's transparent it has magical powers, apparently.
Re: When Lego Lost its Head (Daily Mail Article)
Geez, the only transparent thing I had as a kid was a yellowed 1 x 2 brick...y'all don't know how lucky you are.

I think the point was that LEGO had a financial crisis a few years before the more widespread financial crisis hit. In that sense, LEGO "rehearsed" the crisis.chump wrote:Shouldn't the word in the first line read "reversal" instead of "rehearsal". That would make a lot more sense to me.

I read this awhile back and loved it!
I liked all the fun facts on the side.
I also thought it was interesting that they thought frowns and grimaces were "un-LEGO" I wonder when exactly they decided to make the first non smiling faces...

Re: When Lego Lost its Head (Daily Mail Article)
This is an interesting article. Fortunetly, LEGO was able to save itself from potential disaster. I noticed that the article mentioned white LEGO heads; I thought there was only yellow and black? In what sets do white LEGO heads appear in? Thanks for sharing this, Athos.

Some of the Basketball sets had pale flesh colored heads for the white players.
