I got a kick out of that too. When I was a kid I was really into space and all the trans-red/yellow/blue/green pieces were kept separately because they were really important lasers of various levels of potency.

But on topic, that is an interesting read, thanks for sharing. I think the number of "The AFOL's" who have come back to Lego recently is a strong testament to the company doing something right.

Priceless quote, and 100% true. I remember when everything transparent may as well have been a diamond for how mesmerizing and valuable it was to me. The magical power is making you want it NOW NOW NOW until your parents buy it just to shut you up >_>;

I think the point was that LEGO had a financial crisis a few years before the more widespread financial crisis hit. In that sense, LEGO "rehearsed" the crisis.

This is an interesting article. Fortunetly, LEGO was able to save itself from potential disaster. I noticed that the article mentioned white LEGO heads; I thought there was only yellow and black? In what sets do white LEGO heads appear in? Thanks for sharing this, Athos.
