CCCVII: Assassins Creed

Post by Elbadar »

Given that I recently played Assassins Creed II and this year's CCC has an outlaw escape category this MOC was inevitable. Here's my lego rendition of, the leap of faith!

For anyone who hasn't played or seen the game you can escape the gaurds by breaking their line of sight then jumping/landing in a cart full of straw. Some buildings have perches or crosses from which you can leap safely into a pile of soft hay for an escape or shortcut. Hope you like it, and go team me :eyebrows:

Hey, that's pretty good. The minifig posing gives a nice sense of action, and I like the way you built the railing-ladder.

Good work, now is this from 1 or 2? For if it was from the first, I suggest you go on a different take. You see, in the first, the tower had more of an Arabian (Islam style) look. Therefore it was sandstone, and it had many arches, curves and wedges. Also if you don't have any sandstone pieces, use a mixture of gray and Dark gray like you did here. The cart design is elegant, yet the straw itself is a little "blocky". I suggest going out of the way, and searching for a newer, more natural look. Also I noticed it's just a bit short. Overall you did a great job. I look forward to seeing more in the future!

Thanks for the replies :D

Sleepy Hollow, it's meant to be from AC2, largely for the fact that my tan went into my Loth Amon MOC and I didn't want to demolish it just yet. As for the straw I sortof wanted to do Minifig hands, but they wouldn't fit in the cart, and I liked the cart design so I just cheaped out

It's pretty well done, although, I would take a better photo, as this one's a little blury. Although who am I to complain about that! My photos are terrible! As others stated, the posing is great, and gives a sense of action to it all. Hmm, I've never played Assassin's Creed, tell me, is it good? I LOVE VIDEO GAMES! :tasty: Oh, and I like the 1x1x1 clips, well done. One other thing though, I would suggest going to Wally's World and buying several white Elmer's Glue brand foam boards and covering the background with them, it'll cut down on the distraction of the things behind your build, AND, you can use 'em to build on! I can fit about four baseplates on one foam board if I am thinking correctly. So, they work very well and are very sturdy. Maybe, you can replace your hay with some yellow flat 1x2s? But it's not a big deal! :D I think this MOC is very well built and I hope you do well in the contest! Go team you! :eyebrows:

I like the various architectural strategies you used in this MOC. I'm curious though, what is the tube from? Is it one of those fiber optic tubes from Lego space?

Ooh more replies :woo:

Napoleon, personally its one of my favorite games and both the first nd second are good. If you wanna pick it up I'd get the first for its low price and see if you like it enough for tthe second, which is significantly better.I'll try to implement your board idea also because that might help allot with photo quality. Thanks for the team support :eyebrows:

the tube attatches to the light brick in some creator sets like fiery legend, I guess because the whole thing lights up. I actually got mine in a mindstorm set from several (maybe 6?) years ago and remembered it for this MOC. I think it gives an almost comic likness by tracing the path of the dive, but maybe I'm overthinking it. Thanks for the reply :)
