CCCVIII Entry: Zimbab Castle

Post by Mark Stafford »

I couldn't go a second year without entering the CCC, I was inspired by a few of the categories this year, but they all kind of came together in one MOC, entered only in the 'Eastern Medieval Life' Category. But in various places around the castle you can find: Technological Advance: Irrigation, Religious Life: a Christian street preacher, Training a Knight: with targets and wooden swords, Brick Castle: kind of, I guess it could be mud-brick, Fantasy Castle: This is a hi-bred of Fasilides Castle in Gondar East Africa and the ancient Ruins of Great Zimbabwe, though I think it kind of fits in better with the history of Zanzibar, but really I had Richard Adams 'Shardik' novel in my head when I was building it!

Anyway, let me know what you think,
Cheers,
Mark.

Woo, the wall technique seems to be really nice, I really like the color scheme : tan and dark blue !

Can't wait to see more details on the BS folder !

This is extremely nice; really love it. The dark blue crenellations are neat... I also love the various parts uses for the figs.
...and that's how Equestria was made!

Great MOC. I love the curved wall and the mottled brick look. I consider that Mud brick. Great little details too.

That is a swell looking MOC. The look of the castle is great, it has a very earthy feel to it which is perfect for what you had in mind. The design of the fortress and its many features really comes together perfect. Nice work!

I love the buildings and african figs. The castle has a beautiful primitive shape and color, but the landscaping and trees don't do it for me. No offence but no matter where it is i despize the dark grey road. It looks like modern asphault. Pet peeves aside this MOC deserves to go far in this contest, maybe even to the top :eyebrows:
