New Posable Horses

Post by footsteps »

As part of my ongoing vain, and ultimately futile, attempt to gain MOC immortality within the Lego community, I present my Posable Horses:

King's Horsemen
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=62607

Apocalypse
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=62602

So far I have not been able to create a MOC horse that will fit inside the standard Lego barding, nor to create MOC barding. Feel free to give it a go!

The standard wagon hitches do not work with these horses either, so you need something similar to:

Please LMKWYT

Alan.

I would like to specifically thank the following Bricklink stores from which I purchased the pieces I needed to complete this project.

Hi Alan,

Your horses are extremely creative. They look much better in one color. You have also become popular on fbtb. Check it out here: http://pub180.ezboard.com/fthefbtbcommu ... 2671.topic

"wow" doesn't do justice. I've never had that kind of feedback before. Feels rather good. :D

I bet! You should register so you can talk to them about the horses. I am sure they would like it.

Alan,

I LOVE these horses! I need to make a few of my own. In solid color, it really shows off what an ingenius design this is! I am sure Marshal Leonhart will want one for his personal steed.

Just make sure that Marshal Leonhart has plenty of geld to spend (and no, that wasn't a typo). Unless you already have all the parts, or are trying only to make black or white horses, the cost can really sneak up on you.

Brown in particular has been fiendishly hard, and I've had to resort to using dk.grey as a substitute for some parts. Tan parts are available, but not always affordably or in sufficient numbers at any one BL store to use bulk purchasing power.

While I haven't built one yet, an all dk.grey horse is probably a legitimate colour, and with a bit of imagination and skill a mottled colour scheme could also work. That could offset some of the potential cost.

Apart from keeping a handful for my daughter, I will probably look to eBay to dispose of my Lego standard horses. I've decided the MOCs are the way to go, especially as I hope to create other animals (based on already established designs) to round out my castle world.

It's nice to know that I've been able to make a much appreciated contribution to MOCage.

Same here, apparently. Though last time I tried they didn't...

Anyway... Congrats on the GREAT horses! You probably can't get any better than this with making a brick horse! I still prefer the molded one, though... Looks better with a minifig, and doesn't fall apart that easily!

While I appreciate having my horses brought to the fore again, 6+ years is rather excessive for necromancy. As Bluesecrets mentioned, a PM to me about broken links would've done the job, and perhaps led to a longer pleasant conversation.

Humble request to Admins: let's lock this one down. Thanks.

Hope you're fine with a lowly Templar doing the job ;)
