A couple of gateways/checkpoints

Post by billsmugs »

These are my first attempts at making (reasonably) large scale Castle creations (so far my castle stuff has just been vignettes and occasionally something slightly bigger):

Apologies for my dismal photography and editing skills

Any feedback or tips would be appreciated, here or on Flickr

They are both good, but I like the tower on the left more. It has some good detail.

It's not that bad... I thought you did well.

Thanks for the comments, I think I prefer the one on the left as well, that was the first one I did, while the second one I built mainly to fit the two minifigs who man it.

My photography is getting better, but the reason the backgrounds are so blurry is that I've never been able to edit out backgrounds very well, also I have to take several shots from each angle just to get one that's not so blurred that I can't sharpen it on the PC :D

Blur? have you tried using a tripod? or at least try using something solid to rest the camera on (a pile of large books or the like perhaps). I have a mini tripod for my camera and have seen them for approx $10 (sometimes less).
Build? I merely Acquire atm.
