Trader's River Barge

Postby Username » Mon Jun 07, 2010 3:42 pm

Small and simple MOC I had in mind just before the new monthly challenge was posted. Very surprised no one (that I have seen) has yet used the reddish brown cockpit pieces for a boat.

Here is a land owner, his trusty hound and two of his servants transporting goods down the river to the next town. Loaded on board are succulent apples, rare herbs and spices, exotic treasures and a few barrels of a stout brew.

Comments and critiques are welcome:

This is lovely, although it would be cool to see it in some water. Nice work.

Thank you! i have been looking for ideas for a medieval Lego barge, and here one is. Excellent job!

And so he slipped into the forest, vanishing without a trace, leaving his pursuers lost without ideas, while he went to finish his MOC's.

Here's where they are:

Nicely done. It's hard to see it all, but it looks like the boat has a nice shape underneath there, and I love the idea and it's execution, particularly the goods that are being transported.

I was thinking of how to make some boats a few days ago, and this has just inspired me to do so.

Nicely done, what is the bottom of the boat? I think i know what you are talking about, but I'm not so sure.

It's a great little MOC. It looks like something some bandits would love raiding. How about photoshopping some water underneath it or, better yet, building a water scene to compliment it?

This is a splendid little barge, it would be a great addition to any water scene. It would also make an easy target for the forestmen or wolfpack.

I think this would make a superb official Lego set. The size is just right to be affordable, it offers a lot for playability, it would go well with any existing castle/village set, and everybody in the world would want one.
