Quite dull perhaps, but something I really wanted to make.

As I was going to say on Flickr, this house is amazing. Really nice all around. What I'm glad you added is the peaceful scenes of daily life, fishers, gardening, etc etc. Very creative.

Lovely Build! I really like the fact that it is historically accurate(ish). The roof design is awesome, and the color choice for the entire house is good. The roundish base really frames the MOC well. I've come really close to running out of green plates before too, those are just pieces I always forget to pick when I have the chance. Great Job, I always enjoy your builds!

Very cool. I love historic buildings. I got to visit a few sites where they had originals. Not much left now but they had some good recreations of them that some people had been living in. I think you got the look and feel of it very well. Now we just need to get some people together and make an Anglo-Saxon village... maybe with a viking attack going on.

Well, now that you mention it, ideally I was going to make a village - but I didn't have enough pieces for more than one house

Boring? Whatever. I love this as it's right up my alley! Peasantry and medieval life that isn't so overbuilt that it borders on the hilarious. I like the fences a lot, I noticed that TLG used something pretty similar to that in The Ostrich Race and thought it would be a wonderful starting point to making something you did. The colouring is so nice. I like how you did not do any mottling ie: the grass is green, the path is dark tan and the house has it's own colours making it pop right off the base. I also like the timbers on the side and how there is just a hint of stone foundation to be seen. One, very small thing that I don't like is the shape of the base. More specifically, how the lowest corner [in the picture above] is more squarish than the rest of it. See? Small thing.

Oh, and the black around the bottom edge is a really nice way to finish it!

I love to see historic mocs of building types rarely covered by other builders. Your building and landscape create a very successful moc.

Love the sloping green. I also noticed dark pearl fishes. (shadow?) I like the idea as well. Obviously out in the country where there is not many others. I can just imagine this sitting on top of a hill about 3 miles from the nearest village. ahhhh...

...not dull at all. Or at least no further than actual Anglo-peasant life might have been on the farm. Your placement of fence posts looks as accurate as any archaeological reports I might have read. Was this merely your artistic license, or were you following the findings from an actual excavation?
