Work of Ryxe - Wombatt town and Poienari castle

Post by Michal H./gearcs »

Hi, I want to introduce you my friend Ryxe and his work.

Image
First - the Wombatt town. It's very busy town. The main street of St.Paul is full of knights, who are going to local joust. The boy with a flower fell in love with a maid. A monk is giving some money to veteran-beggar and one of the fast girls with her customer is going out of sight... Do not disturb them

Second - the Poienari castle. It's a main seat of Vlad III. Draculea. There are three bastions in the front castle wall. You can see a donjon with neighbouring palace, there's an entrance to a donjon, too. The kitchen is located next to a palace.

I like them too.
Nice landscape with good rocks.
The wall with the three bastions looks very good, too.
I like the dead people on the...stocks??? Cool Idea to build Vlad Tepes castle/city.
Will your friend join CC ?

Tell your friend he has done an amazing job. The castle is amazing, the landscaping is wonderful, and it is just and all around good creation.

Both of these mocs are outstanding and are a joy to look at. I especially like the castle and its design.
Your friend did a great job with all the details, and the landscaping is excellent too!
I look forward to seeing more great work from your friend in the future.

Some great work at doing walls and such on the diagonal as well as the rounded towers and such, I really liked how well the fortresses seemed to fit into their surroundings.

Second one with all the skewered guys... yikes.

"yikes", indeed.
Vlad the skewer-er....just doesn't have the same kind of ring to it now does it? :P

I'm particularly impressed buy Poinari, I had attempted a couple of different times to build it for last years CCC's brick castle category but never really came up with anything I liked much. I like how you got it to look like it's high up on the ridge by adding the river. For some reason it gives it a lot of depth to me. It's a tough subject because of it's odd shape and not being able to find a lot of info about what it was like before it became ruinous.

Trust me, I think I'm funnier than you do.
Why do I have to add the word "minifig" to my spell checker every time I use it?!

I am sorry, but there is not enough documentation of the castle Poienari at
all. So I worked with a few photos and a little plan of the ruin of the
castle. Therefore it is not entire reconstruction, but many things and
details I thought out myself.
I am really very glad at your enjoying of my castle. :)

Well I'm glad you weren't able to find any references for it either.

I'm unsure whether Ryxe will be able to translate that dry, one liner.
