Legendary Smithy - My First Moc

Post by Fraslund »

Hello all!

This is Daro's Smithy; a blacksmith of such renown that he is beyond factions and kingdoms. If you want the best, you come his shop. :D

This is my first attempt at a castle moc so please bear with me. I just finished this a little over 3 weeks ago and it was before I had discovered Brickshelf, so much of my design was limited to the bricks I had available to me and my inexperience. I have since learned a great deal and can’t wait to share the current project I am working when it’s completed.

As I look at these pictures, I can already see so many things I would do differently, but overall I am very happy with it. My only complaint is that I wasn’t able to capture the detail of the inside. I have two boys 5.5 and 3.5, so my goal was to make this playable and fun as well.

One other thing I noticed is that when I had my friend over to finally snap a few shots, missed a few details such as the shield on the cart and a few bricks I didnt push down as I was rearranging some of the interior... you get the idea :eyebrows:

First attempt? :raiseone: That's hard to believe. This is incredible!!!

And so he slipped into the forest, vanishing without a trace, leaving his pursuers lost without ideas, while he went to finish his MOC's.

Here's where they are:

It is looking fantastic
Folder on brickshelf is not yet public, it will be in a day or two, and I am sure to come back and see it ;)
For me, this is new idea, I've never seen a blacksmith shop under that kind of roof, it is realistic, and also, I like the atmosphere.
Don't worry, true charm from every Lego enthusiast is to examine the picture and I look for details :)

That's really cool. I love the roof shape!
...and that's how Equestria was made!

Thank you all for the feedback! Its funny, the roof was what I was most worried about. It was very difficult to marry the different angles and I didnt have the slopes to do the roof any other way. I wish I could have gotten better shots of the interior because I really think that is some of my favorite parts of this build. I guess I need to look into a more modular design next time :D

This turned out very well! For a first moc this is very nicely done. You did well on the roof with those plates! Nice details and colours. Good luck in the contest!
Peace Sells...But who's buying!
