This is Elswehr Castle, which is inspired by Burg Eltz in Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany). The name is a pun played on elsewhere, Burg Eltz and wehr, which is the german term for weir. It turned out that Elswehr Castle resembles Burg Eltz less than i planned. I hope youre still impressed

Re: CCCVIII Elswehr Castle
With the red roofs of the living quarters, I would have thought that it would have been a Lion stronghold, not a Crown one. Either way, it's a decent castle and I would like to see more pics.

First, thanks for the compliments. Second, it was planned intended that it looks a little bit "unusual". Usually castles were not in build in one but in several phases, so i used different colors for the tudor paneling, as they used different materials in the different phases of the building.SPACE MARINE wrote:Nice, I do however find it a bit unusual that some of the Tudor paneling is yellow while some is white. Keep bricking, with an extra emphasis on Keep. (I know, not a very good joke, get it? Keep, like a castle's donjon, or keep as they're called now)

Great layout of the castle. I really like the angles in which you chose to take the castle as well. It makes it look much bigger. Great work!

Gorgeous, and a very natural-looking colour scheme. I liked the scale, too - gives a sense of mass without overwhelming the figures. The bare timber section on the walls works well, too, and along with some of the other smaller details makes this look like a building which is actually being lived in.

Great castle! The differing colors really works for me. I especially like that timber section of the castle.

Re: CCCVIII Elswehr Castle
Oh this is a lovely castle! The way the buildings are staggered give it a very nice even height. There are lots of wonderful details here, especially on the walls - you've managed to avoid big grey wall syndrome brilliantly!
this very much works for me, I think it looks great!KumpelKante wrote: Second, it was planned intended that it looks a little bit "unusual".
