First Public MOC - Fort

Post by Tyranus »

Hello, I'm new around here, and I'd like to present my first public MOC: this fortress modeled after a Fort at Cardiff Castle.
I built this autumn of 2009, and it was never completed, unfortunately. I was ready to close it up, but my older brother took it apart (with my grudging compliance) to fuel his castle town. Well, it was the first castle I was ever really proud of.

The final photo is actually not its latest stage, but I never managed to photograph it at that stage...

The construction photos are here at my Brickshelf:

Understand that I wasn't planning to put this out, so the photos are done rather crudely with room backgrounds. :tasty:

It's not public yet.
Some folk we never forget
Some kind we never forgive
Haven’t seen the back of us yet
We’ll fight as long as we live

Welcome to Classic-Castle, and I hope you'll enjoy your time here.

I quite like the wall you've created; it's a very solid first MOC. The small door gives it a real sense of size, and it gives off an impression of solidity. I'd say it's ready to turn aside waves of invaders. The single window on the upper storey breaks up the monotony of the wall without diminishing its apparent strength.

I like it. It is on similar to the size and quality of my MOCs. I like the hinged walls and feel like there is just enough greenery at the base to make it realistic.
