CCCIX Hermits Hovel Entry - Hiding among the leaf

Post by papercla »

Hi,
this is my first try in CCC and I'm very happy to partecipate.

A contingent of soldiers is patrolling the forest, but they don't know that trees have eyes and ears...

I like it, but one little detail is nagging me. :halo: When you use those leaves on the big tree, it looks a little naked.
Otherwise, splendid MOC, and keep on building! :D

Good work on the tree. It was fun to see the forestman's face staring out at the crownies. Also good work on the different plants on the forest floor, it is nice to see so many different types, and especially the ones using the bases from the toystory armymen.
You would rather be building right now.

I disagree. I think those leaves are a necessary factor for a tree to be, well, big. The smaller leaves would contradict the rest of the build, and look a little silly. I do agree with you, however, that it looks a little naked; however, I would say that rather than using a new leaf type, just to use more of the same leaves. :) Good job, by the way.
If I were to make something out of LEGOs, I would probably use LEGOs. Pretty advanced stuff going on up in my head.

Excellent job man! That huge tree brings it up a noch!

I would agree with Throndor that it could use more leaves, but as a whole I like this MOC a lot. Nice Job!

Thank you for your comments. :D

Yes, I agree that the leaves could be more thick, but the risk was that the forestmen in the housetree was invisible (there are 1 other forestman in the house and 1 over the roof but we can't see them because of the foliage. :( )
