The better parts of KK2

Whether it is KK2 or Ninjago...all those odd colored figs are not even close to being what I want or need in my collection. I only bought one Ninjago set..for the TAN skeletons and will not buy more. I wish I could go back and not have bought those KK2 sets. The only good thing KK2 figures are for, for me, is giving them to my nephews to play with when they are here, which includes that ridiculous over sized sword, for I don't care if they get trashed. My castle factions are not "Skittles taste the rainbow" unrealistic and I do not want them to be.

Fair enough, although the figs i mentioned were black and yellow (real world holy roman empire colors) and green and grey (duchy of Milan colors), not historically unplausible rainbow knights. Even the purple guy could theoretically be made into Byzantine style royalty with a few modifications.

My favourite parts... although I was in my dark ages during this time [what a shame I missed out on such colourful crap lol] I do like the different heads and the shields.
Although I'm kind of wondering if the current dragon faction is an off shoot of Sir Kentis's faction... dark green shields and unicorns? .. the dragons main colour is dark green and horses wear unicorn horns.

Well the best thing about KK2 ist, that it was on clearance when i finally came out of my dark age. Got that 2006 tower for 20€

also i use some of the not that much ridicilous parts

otherwise: when i was first considering coming out of my dark age KK2 was the only lego castle availible... erm i did not come out of my dark age until 2008

I have a new one for KKII.... Just bought some specialized spray paint and made some really spiffy metallic gold breastplates and helmets!

I actually like some of the things from this line. But to get better effect with the minifigs you needed to swap out parts and colors for a few of them. Parting out seems to be the reason most AFOLs would buy these sets. That's why I buy most of my Legos.

The best way to get army builders for the geometrical Jayko, you needed to have purchased BrickMaster in 2005. You got several of these sets; http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=5994-1 , http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=5998-1 , and http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=5999-1
Laugh if you will at the laucher, but it gave you a nice horse armor that works with the later Crownies and those 'wheel' pieces that make for interesting wooden details.

Vladek Encounter (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=8777-1) gave us a cheep horse barding. I don't have this set, but intend to either purchase it outright or buy the more interesting parts seperately.

The large figures were largely better used for parts. The first round gave us a piece I need for creating a podium: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=47474. The second round gave us the giant shields that are perfect for heraldic display.

Most of the shields have been discussed save for this one: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=48494pb07 I find it works great for the chain knights from Kingdoms.
