6 month ago i started working on my first large scale castle project too. I started with the front gate and worked around the base, changeing and rebuilding alot as i went. i ran out of bricks so the project is moving slowly right now.

Depending on if you intend it to be "playable" or just a display, changes how you design and build. My largest castle/ town that was just for display was approximately 96 by 96 lugs and I built it in sections so the plates just sat together as some sections were too small for my hands to fit in. My current castle/ town is "playable and MUCH larger, approximately 4 feet by 6 feet. It his designed so that I can get my hand into every building (they come apart easily) and in between them easily. The main thing I have learned over my 20+ years of collecting ans playing with Legos is to make so you like it, not someone else. If they like it too that is just gravy. I can't wait to see the MOC when it is done. Good Luck!
