LCC General Information and FAQ
Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
I think dryads and naiads should be added to the list as well.

Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
I have removed the golems and elementals, but I think demons can be intelligent and not just mindless killing machinesAK_Brickster wrote:I wouldn't consider demons, golems, or elementals to be "races". When you think of a race, you think of a person/thing that has the ability to think, reason, have emotion. I don't think those 3 (cave trolls are right behind them in terms of "intelligence") really qualify as a race any more than an animal does.

Dryads- they are basically tree spirits.lord_of_orks wrote:ok, let me find out what those are first...Fireglade wrote:I think dryads and naiads should be added to the list as well.
Naiads-basically water spirits,
They are both generally depicted as female creatures, shy and and quick on their feet.
On that note, are we having Valkyries and Angels? Angels are just the opposite of demons so they might make sense. And Valkyries (or choosers of the dead) are from Norse myths, basically they are warrior maidens that bring the dead to Valhalla (Norse afterlife).

I think the the Naiads and Dryads would fit under the category of elementals and are more like creatures than a race so we probably won't add them to the list.Fireglade wrote:Dryads- they are basically tree spirits.lord_of_orks wrote:ok, let me find out what those are first...Fireglade wrote:I think dryads and naiads should be added to the list as well.

I'm fine with adding the angles if no one else objects.
aren't the Valkyries just human mages?

Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
Well, dryad and naiad have human-like forms and they both have some sort of intelligence. Meanwhile elementals I usually picture as summoned beings made from a certain element to do the summoners bidings

Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
Valkyries are Norse female angels I guess is how you would describe them. Their job is to take slain warriors to Valhalla (the hall of the slain "Heaven"). Where they eat and drink and have a pig that regrows limbs. I don't think they would be considered a species cause they are with the gods but that's just my point of view.

Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
I don't think that Valkryies should be included just for the reason that they transport you to a "heavenly" type place, and Rowia isn't really supposed to have a religion. Though, I do believe demons should be included, because they could be transported from other demensions, that only mages understand and have the power to do.
The only problem I'd think of with a challenge like that, is that people would then come up with races not already "approved" if you'd like to call it that.
Maybe it could be like a local challenge or a global challenge.lord_of_orks wrote: I'd like to do it if there are no objections

Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
I think having it a global challenge would be a great idea, because then all of us can decide the known races of Roawia by voting.ZacharyIslazy wrote:...Maybe it could be like a local challenge or a global challenge.
After hearing more thoughts on Valkyries I agree that we shouldn't have them. But I think that we should have angels and demons available to choose from the races of Roawia.
Will demons and angels have to be summoned though or will they be an actual race like centaurs or elves?

Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
I believe they should only be summoned entities. Although Alien Cat's character is a demon soFireglade wrote:

Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
I think the best thing would be to have a moc challenge which includes at least one member of every race(like a jousting tournament)
All other creatures (that your character can't be) can just be included into mocs

May I officially join LCC now? My character's backstory is up and I'd like to make some mocs for the LCC thread.
