LotR & Hobbit Battle packs

Postby Quickblade22 » Wed Dec 26, 2012 3:09 pm

If Star Wars can have several battle packs, why not LotR & Hobbit? Who wouldn't want a group of Rohirrim, Uruk-hi, Elves, Dwarves, Mordor orcs, Moria Goblins, Men of Gondor etc, etc? I know my wallet would be attracted to this idea.

I think that it would be great if TLG ever did do something like this. I must say my wallet would be attracted to this idea, too.

A series of $13.00 sets featuring 4 soldiers from each of the several factions (Rohan, Gondor, Orc, Goblin, Moria, Elves, Dwarves) like there is for Star Wars would be beyond fantastic.

This would be a great idea, and probably TLG will make them in a near future when the LOTR and Hobbit theme has started up better

I agree. Hopefully there will be battle packs, but I hope they won't be too expensive. The current Star Wars ones are a bit overpriced IMHO.

While that would be wonderful, I could easily see this same setup (four figures: An elf, dwarf and two Orcs/Goblins) going for $19.99 and still leaping all over it!

I am not even a massive Tolkien fan, but the minifigures are beautiful and have been well-done (in terms of stand-alone appearance and not based on the novels/movies).

Seems like a no-brainer to me. I am a battle pack fan, having bought fantasy era castle battle packs (dwarves and trolls) and the most recent castle series (both lions and dragons), so for sure I'd be buying LOTR and HOBBIT battle packs. Elves at Helm's Deep, Gondor troops for Pelennor Fields, ah one can dream.

I'd rather see LOTR battle packs in the boxes than in the plastic ones they tried with the Fantasy Era ones. I don't recall seeing the Fantasy Era battle packs in the store, but always see the boxed sets of Star Wars ones. It also seems like you get more stuff with the boxed sets. Something else that might be cool is if they released the figures like they did with the collectible minifigs in mind. As a fan, I'd love to go to the store and get a random bag with a LOTR or Hobbit character in them. I know this would be counter productive to the sales of sets, but.....apathy :D

Quickblade22, those would be some great ideas, random bag. Also the boxed battle pack sets are better in my opinion also, they are usually lacking one fig but more stuff added

That would be a great way of getting all those epic minifig parts without buying sets and/or polybags. One thing though, they need to be in boxes so there not Chinese, if they were in plastic like Kingdoms and other themes they'd be bound to be Chinese. :orc:
