On BrickSet, someone's claiming that they have a variant of this minifigure with BLUE arms from 383 Knight's Tournament:
Is anyone aware of that happening there or elsewhere? (I certainly don't remember seeing anyone report that, but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if some variants snuck in back then)

Re: 383 Soldier Variation?
Seems like sort of a silly discussion to me, since anyone could easily pop the black arms off and replace them with blue ones. The original poster claims that he doesn't know how to swap minifig arms out, which I find preposterous, lol.

Yeah, I find it unlikely that it wasn't done by either the OP, or one of their friends/family. But, that said, if someone's aware of variants, it would be interesting to note.

I still have to learn how to swap them without damaging the fig though Holding them as close to the body as possible and not pulling too hard seems to work, but still, it's a risky business.AK_Brickster wrote:Seems like sort of a silly discussion to me, since anyone could easily pop the black arms off and replace them with blue ones. Re: 383 Soldier Variation?
It works better with the newer figs. I think they changed the design to strengthen the side panels.
I also try to squeeze the torso and back sections together as I remove the arm (basically pinching the torso) so that the strain on the side panel from the arm popping out is partially negated by the pressure on the front and back of the torso.

That might actually be a good idea. I think they did change the torso's, now that you mention it, because you can put horns in old torso's arm sockets to attach stuff (like robot arms) to them, but this is no longer possible with the new torso's.

Alright, here's one: http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af1 ... 101038.jpg
And here's the second guy: http://i1004.photobucket.com/albums/af1 ... 101019.jpg
The trick is to put the horn in slowly, until it 'clicks.' I forgot who taught me this trick, but I would credit him if I remembered '^^
