True, but like I said, talk with the leaders. They might be able to come up with something.Crazycrownieguy wrote: Hey guys
I would just like to point out that schimdt's case was a special one, since he decided to join a faction that was severely lacking in members it was ok, but I don't think you would be able to change your faction without special circumstances, you can kill off your characters all you want, but I think you have to stay within the faction you joined in the first place.

Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
The only reason I was able to "switch factions" was because Lenfald was in a huge lead in active members and the Outlaws were greatly outnumbered. It was a very special circumstance. I had to kill off my character entirely and start all over in Outlaws. I don't know if the FO's will be so willing to let people switch right now for two reasons...
1.) It is completely prohibited in the LCC roleplaying game (I was a special circumstance)
2.) The factions seem to be incredibly even right now (anyone notice the last GC? Man it was close in entires! )
Having said, you could contact the FO's but I wouldn't expect them to be so willing to let someone transfer ATM. If anyone is allowed to transfer for any reason, then the LCC is going to get real hectic, real quick.

Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
I'm also involved in a less famous medieval RPG at MOCpages called The Lands of Mythron, where faction-switching is allowed without penalty, and I can say that it does indeed get hectic- especially when the switcher tries to hide the fact from everyone in his old faction. Lots of bad blood generated, not to mention that only about 50% of the members have any real faction loyalty.SSchmidt wrote:The only reason I was able to "switch factions" was because Lenfald was in a huge lead in active members and the Outlaws were greatly outnumbered. Just to be blunt, no switching factions is allowed at this time. You can start a new character, but you have to stick with your same faction.

Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
Hi Guys,
Thanks for the clarification, much appreciated. I have plenty of white bricks from my 'Hoth Period' and live in Sweden so Garheim is still the best faction for me I just have a big itch to scratch regarding my old dragon minifigs.
I will use them in my Ilarix Valeron of the Wyvern Clan in the Storied section instead.
Thanks once again

Remember, just becuase you are in a certain faction, that doesn't mean your character can't or won't interact with other factions or even travel to other areas. My character (from Garheim) actually spent most of his time in Lenfald in my last story 'arc' (I was trying to get him to Loreos, but the Global storyline drew me in other directions).DungeonsAndFlagons wrote:Hi Guys,

Part of the challenge is fitting characters, builds and stories together. If you have created an Outlaw character that you are fond of, why not have your Garheim character meet him or even get captured by outlaws?

Thanks for that. That might be an interesting way to combine the two. Perhaps my Garheim character sails north around the world and comes upon the south of the outlaw lands. I wonder if they connect up like that.... Anyway I will think of something.....
Oh yes now it is coming to me.
Thanks for the top tips Andhe!
Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
AK please tell me whether my entry to the Heroes guild is valid because so many people say it "Doesn't fit the category well enough" and I'd like to either point out to them that its fine, or know that you think its not valid! Thanks!

Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
On the topic of changing characters, what are the rules on changing an existing character's name? If I fit it into the story (which I know I can ) would I be allowed to officially change my character's name a little bit? i.e. Cedric Archer = Caedric Moore (more northern sounding being Celtic; it's actually my grandfather's last name) Caedric isn't so far from Cedric as to be confusing, I don't think, and the surname "Archer" may still be applied, being a nickname based on my character's trade. I'd really rather not kill off my character just for a name change.
Cheers

Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
There is no rules on changing your name. Make a build with your character discovering a reason that he has been using the wrong name. (adoption, secret cult, etc) From them on you can have two names, still the same character - that may even cause you trouble down the line. Sounds like a fun idea.Ronin Dragonslayer wrote:On the topic of changing characters, what are the rules on changing an existing character's name? Secret cult? Good idea, from now on Wolfgang's middle name is Bacon!gurusql wrote:There is no rules on changing your name. Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
So....does that mean you are going to build a giant bacon build where Wolfgang realizes in a dream his father named him Wolfgang Loves Bacon something something...because of course for the ladies he needs to say "Love is my middle name babe" and then when they say "I thought it was just bacon" he could reply with "Yeah...I love bacon, how did you know?"Rifiröfi wrote:Secret cult? Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
You know, with the recent posts and creation of some threads, I've been a little nostalgia trip with the LCC, and thought to myself, when did it officially start? Have we ever established a date upon which we officially started the project? Would it be when we first developed the factions, map, or let everyone sign-up? Maybe we should have a little celebration every year on the anniversary (Whenever that is ) both in game and on the forums. What do you guys think?

Re: LCC General Information and FAQ
^That would be a great idea Zach, one that I would for sure support! Each faction could have a celebratory feast, event, or something along those lines.
