The quest for the holy grail in lego!

Post by Umgarla »

I just received the new DVD with Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail yesterday and I noticed something:

In the film there's a scene with some of the "silly" knights who do a Clark-Gable-like show in Camelot. As I watched all the extra material I noticed that there was a lego version of the very same scene! So now I'm asking those of you who have the dvd: Does yours have the same lego extra material?

I don't have it, but I've heard about it. I think it was also available from http://www.brickfilms.com

The movie was first available for viewing on LEGO.com/studios a few years ago, I believe. It's really good and funny!

A few months ago I borrowed the Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail DVD from my sister which also had that scene in lego. I really liked the scene and I hope they'll make more of those scenes.

Let the experienced Brickfilmer step in to this conversation....

Well, LEGO.com don't actually make the Lego movies that are displayed on thier site. They are made by two fellows who call themselves "Spite your face Productions" and they make all kinds of Lego films for The LEGO company. Yes, thier films are on Brickfilms.com, because they are members of the site, just like me. They made Monty Python and the holy grail out of Lego, but the one that was on LEGO.com wasn't actually the full version.
The members of SpiteYourFace Productions are Tim Drage, and David West. I am not sure if they get money for making thier films, but I think they do. They are also releasing The Peril of Dock Ock on DVD soon, but they haven't had any copywright laws or notices or anything.

If you have any more questions about Brickfilming, then just ask me.

I downloaded a LEGO Spider man 2 parody on Emule, and it is a great work. Maybe it is a leaked version of that movie?

Spite Your Face Productions also did "The Han Solo Affair" and a Studio Monsters movie that were on Lego.com for a while. Click the link for more of their work.
