Got this less than a week ago and it has already arrived at my place (very swift voyage accross the ocean):

Not such a bad deal I would say and the box is in better condition than the one that Ben purchased some time ago. In July this sold on BrickLink for $250.00 and there is one available now on BrickLink for $300.00.
For those who are guessing, yes the box and the parts are really sealed still and no, I am not going to open it.

But, I will say, the only reason I buy MISB stuff is to open it... to me, something only has value if it is USED, and I very much enjoy the process of opening the box and tearing into the bags. But, hey, that's just me.

It makes about the same sense as collecting stamps or coins, Maedhros. Sure, you can't really do anything with stamps, or spend your coins.. but it's fun to know you have them, to see which rare ones you can get ahold of.. stuff like that. That's sort of the essence of collecting (at least, that kind of collecting).

The unopened sets are the real treasures of collecting. In a couple years this set will be 25 - 30 years old. It is the joy of having a set in absolutely mint condition that was sold many, many years ago and no one besides the Lego factory personell ever touched the bricks.
I guess you can call it collecting.
