Really? I have one of those - if you turn it on its side it makes a great minifig-scale laptop - but I never realized it was a not-quite production piece. :D

Oh, my mistake. The blue book was available in some fairy tale set a while back. The unpainted black book is in no LEGO sets.

There are also some more recent book colors like Magenta that I do not have. Once again, they come in fairy tale sets.

I forgot about my books...I will go through them see what I have. Off the top of my head, I know I have some black and at least one pearl gray.

I also have some rare books. Here are all of the varieties of books that I owned at the time the picture was taken.

The pink cupcake book is somewhat rare, as is the plain yellow. I found both on bricklink.

The (plain blue and)* plain black books were never available in sets. They are simply unpainted copies of the "evil" and "quidditch" books that were sold off in pick a brick after the sets containing the printed parts went out of production.

I also have a brown bow and quiver that is a darker brown than all of my other brown bows and quivers. Maybe I'll take a picture someday.

*EDIT - Plain blue was in a fairy tale set 5 or 6 years ago.

Cool, I have a couple black books I got off BL. They were not over priced either...at that time.

Here is a piece I got. It came in a bucket of Lego that I got for free somewhere. No idea what to do with it. Anybody have any ideas?

Not particularly rare on Bricklink, but it's certainly very old!

As for me, I have a few of the prerequisite rare castle items - black sword, pitchfork, flags, etc.

I do have one each of green, brown and tan goblets.

And of course these guys, though Jojo probably has me beat two fold at least:

Go to one of those links, and on the right, is says:
Bricklink wrote:This Part Appears In:
8 Sets (View Them)
Click on it (or my link), and it shows what sets that piece came in. Since yours is red, either 377 Crane with Float Truck or 337 Truck with Crane and Caterpillar Track. There you go.

Say it "ESS-MICK-GIN-ISS", with a hard "G", as in "get".

That is pretty rare. From what I understand that only came on an old keychain fig. Am I right?

This is the keychain minifig with that hat. I'm not sure if the hat was ever made as a single piece.

that's right. I removed the chain itself, and took the hat off. I think it's the only way to get that hat by the keychain. I bought it in LEGOLAND Billund 2 years ago. I think it's also only avaible in Billund.

And I also have the light grey helmet with hose and neck protecter and his shield with that red and white logo with blue around it from an old lego knight soldier. And I got the red, orange, yellow, light blue, dark blue and green diamond also.

Do you have a photo of these items? I would be interested in seeing them.
