Music never dies

Post by eNiGMa »

I found out on the first day of my vacation that my piano teacher of ten years had passed away that day. However, since I was to be gone for a while, I would have to miss the funeral; it hurt terribly. Well, today I built a memorial vignette to make up for missing the funeral. Credit goes to Dunechaser for the piano design.

Building this has really helped me feel better. Let this be a testament to the healing properties of Lego!

Very touching! My sympathies to you on the loss of your mentor.

And that is a nice, Heavenly cloud... Well played! :)

May your teacher rest in peace!
I also took piano lessons for several years and know the relation one builds with his tutor. Your vig is touching and the piano is done very originally.

I'm really sorry for your loss. My sister is talented in music and I've seen the bonds that can form between student and teacher.

The vig is simple and touching. I like the cloud.

This is actually quite beautiful. The meaning behind it gives it that certain something that tugs at the heart.

It is very nice of you to remember your piano teacher in this way. LEGO can be very expressive, and at the same time, theraputic.

This is a very beautiful vignette, and one that reminded me of something that happened to me as well. I took piano lessons for a few years a long time ago and my teacher died too. I can still remember when I heard the news, so I can understand a little bit how you feel now. Very nice scene to portray.

Thanks for all the kind words! The bond between student and teacher is a powerful one.

And Tristram, I agree; Lego is very theraputic. I felt a lot better as soon as I sat down to my bricks. :D

That's the great thing about Lego - it's a simple way to express complex ideas.

Excellent vig, eNiGmA. I love the heaven look it has, and seeing your sigfig (sans the Falcon garb) really made it work. I can't say I've lost a music teacher, but we had this drama teacher a few years ago - Mr Lloyd - he was young and very talented, and a great, humourous guy to know. The school staff were planning on promoting him to head of the subject. But he died suddenly of cancer just a year after starting. Such a waste of a great man. The school studio was named after him, though.

I think this is great eNiGMa. I also think the cloud is good. In situations like this, I think it is good to exercise your creative abilities in something positive. When my friend was murdered, I found painting to be helpful.
