The peasant is just excellent and I can envision a large number of them working my Inn. Several jesters are also necessary as certainly one will be beheaded for not performing well.

I love the color schem difference between harleyquinn and the jester here. gives some options...

However, I think the real surprise set is the elaborate chess set coming out this year. That is a bigger surprise than the advent calender. Also there are no large buildings being released in 2008 so I think the chess set is going to be the high priced set of the year... now that set is a

It's a Christmas tradition. There are 24 little compartments, and you open one each day starting December 1st. It's like a countdown to Christmas and each day you get a new little scene or gift.
Thanks for the clarification! I'm familiar with advent, so I was wondering if there were really 24 things in there. I guess the compartment labels must serve as the "calendar". Interesting.

I must say, it sucks to find out about this set now. I will be spending the next 9 months dreaming of jesters and wenches.

Doubtful. They have always been so hard to come by or to find along with the cool 2008 castle line it would be too much for one year!

Both the peasant and jester are ideal minifigs for an inpulse set- i'm a little surprised we're getting them in an advent calendar first.

But yeah, hopefully this will mean more civillians to come!

I doubt it. 20% of TLC's revenues come from AFOLs. The rest is from kids. The vast majority of kids want to play with heroic characters (knights, wizards, dwarves even) or baddies (orcs, trolls, skeletons), not something as mundane as a peasant. So my guess is, we won't be seeing loads of minifigs of everyday castle folk. We may see one or two more but I wouldn't bet on a fantasy era village set populated with all sorts of commoners.

Lets get them early as possible(my grammer stinks)

But Advent is about sacrifice worldly pleasures and getting ready for Christmas.

Anyways, this set will cost alot. I mean would anything else would be included in this set besides the 9 minifigs?

I don't want to start a religious thing, but the season of advent is all of the days leading up to Christmas, while the Christmas season is Christmas Day and after.

I know what advent is and don't need someone to tell me. My question is "I mean would anything else would be included in this set besides the 9 minifigs?" and will it be one set or a couple?

Well in the Catholic calender it is getting ready for Christmas and sacrificing worldly pleasures. And on the set everyone is happy (i mean the minifigs) and they are skating and eating and all that. I was just curious why is it Advent, not Christmas?
