no offence, but i saw that animated film and it made me laugh REALLY hard  but back to lego I like th e helm's deep and the minifigs. i especially like the custom uruk swords. nice elves! you do them like i do (sort of :D )
and by the way, in the book glorfindel meets them at the ford, not legolas OR arwen :D

Umm, perhaps I didn't use enough smileys to indicate sarcasm. I know it was Glorfindel. Another problem in the cartoons (I think it was Bakshi but it might have been the made-for-TV Rankin/Bass RotK) was that they changed the name Saruman to Aruman, presumably because they were afraid viewers would confuse Saruman with Sauron, but they still accidently called him Saruman a couple of times.

Really? Bruce based his on the book? I always thought he based it on the E-text. :P

P.S. Check the names of the people who prepared it. One is strangely familiar.....

Sorry Bruce. I didn't do my research :(. That is just one of my peeves about both the movies and I jumped to correct it without noticing the sarcasm. My apologies.

Back on topic!

Very nice work Jon. I like the details in the wall and such other goodies as the statue. This does have Peter Jackson's version written all over it. I am a long time admirer of Tolkien's work but I do not look on the movies with haughty scorn. They are just another in a long line of interpretations of his works. That said, Jackson's Helm's Deep was somewhat lacking in design. The keep stood independent of the Deeping Coomb that ran back into the Glittering Caves (now whose gonna build those?).

This is a great rendition Jon. Can't wait to see the battle pics.

I do like your version Bruce, but its too small to capture the grandeur. I love the painting by Ted Naismith for example. The gems are a nice touch.
