When I first came out of my dark ages, I bought a few MB Dragons sets. I thought they were cool. All my friends were doing it. If only I had known.

Truthfully, I thought the MB sets had some pretty cool parts. But they have 3 major flaws which stopped me from buying any more1:

1. The colors look poor when mixed with LEGO
2. Ultra-juniorization
3. Poor quality, which led to my MOCs falling apart

Now, I use some of the blocks for support in unseen areas, but that's about it. I gave most of the figures to my fiance's kindergarten class. They get a much bigger kick out of them than I did.

Ok I don't get what all the MB bashing is about. MegaBlocks are a much cheaper alternative to Lego so it's understood that the quality will be lower as well. You can't expect to get Lego grade product for 1/3 or 1/4 of the price. I do own one MB set which is the Viking ship. I think my dad got it for me for under 20 bucks years ago and I must say I liked it. The pieces were all compatible with Lego, and only the minifigures were poorly done. So although MegaBlocks are not the greatest they are not the worst. If you want to bash/complain about something bash and complain about the Shifty/Enlighten brand rip offs. They are blatant copies of older Lego sets, with terrible plastic quality and to make things worse the colors and minifigures don't match what's on the box. I bought two small sets and never repeated the mistake again.. :D. As for MBs you can build a nice scenery out of them, and even some smaller buildings.

I voted no. I've never made an MOC with Megabloks. For some reason, there are some megabloks floating around in my collection. I throw them away of course.

I sometimes find some Megabloks mixed into my collection, but they get thrown away.

Now, this site is the ”source for all your LEGO® Castle needs. So probably this site is about Lego. Not about Megabloks. If you need Megabloks for your Lego castles go for it. You are totally entitled to.

What I have seen from Megabloks isn’t much. (They are an American thing mainly, and that’s not where I reside.) But what I’ve seen didn’t please my eyes. They are ugly. They aren’t as versatile as Lego. A castle-wall-brick-shaped brick in a MB set may look more like a castle-wall-brick-shaped brick than the usual Lego 2×4 brick does. But it will always stay a castle-wall-brick-shaped brick, which cuts from the systemability that is the great advantage of Lego. A Lego 2×4 brick can be everything you want it to be.

I would never throw any brick I own away, but for the two reasons listed above, I would never buy MB. It's just my belief, but I feel they have very little to do with creative building, and focus more on the playing afterwards.

Back on topic though, I would never be concerned about building with the bricks, and even letting them be shown (if the certain brick was cool or not).

But I have a separate clone bin as well as my LEGO bin - I just could never actually throw any brick away.

Oh wow. Thanks for notifying me that this site is about LEGO®. I did not know that. That wasn't my point but You obviously missed it. My point is this: if you don't like MBs don't get them and don't whine about them it's a different brand with different standards.

That might be a problem.

I've never used Clone bricks- really, I've never had the option or inclination. LEGO's always worked for me.

Ouch, was that a zing I saw there?
I think there's some truth behind it though.

I own Megablocks. Only "Dragons" sets that I've picked up at garage sales for a couple bucks. $2 for a bucket full of landscaped green plates and LEGO compatible accessories (like weapons and banners)? Sure, why not :)

Hm Jojo you keep saying that you are an adult collector yet you're acting like you're 5.

Just so you know, Jojo is an adult collector who lives in Germany. He's got a brickshelf folder full of stuffbetter than anything I've seen from you. Likely he mistook your stupid sarcasm for genuine gratitude (English not being his first language) and responded accordingly.

Or maybe he was being sarcastic himself. I'll let him speak for himself. Either way, I'd take his side over yours.

If you hadn't noticed MB is a sware word around here, even the name for the place "South of Heaven" gets censored & replaced with the Brand name in its stead

I feel these 2 statements sum up my opinion very nicely
