Are you guilty of LEGO injustice?
I just wondered how many if any are guilty of the crime
I for one will not even buy mega bloks . Never wanted any and hopefully never will. No for me

I voted yes...
It was at a time lego had no knights sets and a lego set wasnt avaible under 10€, I saved soap coupons for a free megabloks set, wich was from knights, and got another little set to accompagnie. The bricks were like real castle stones with no sharp edges and all... But crappy figs...
Another time was when I was very young, I bought some bulldozer set, and the instructions were very hard to follow (the 2*4s were like 4 1*2s)
I saw a green tank from megabloks and bought it when I was young.
That was one great set! It had no figs in it, and I used lego figs with it.
Those are the only megabloks sets, o and a free pyrates figures I got at the toystore...

The only reason I mixed Mega-Bloks and LEGO was when I was given a used bucket of them mixed as a gift. I never knew the difference until I noticed the Mega-Bloks had slightly different colors and never stayed together very well.

Having a loving mother she did everything she could to make each holiday and birthday as great as possible for me and my brother. Unfortunatly some holidays left us with a tighter budget than others and sometimes she would go and buy a big MB set with a couple small LEGO sets. Though my innocent eyes never lit up quite as bright as they would with real lego I knew my mom had done what she could afford to do so I always built the set and made like I loved it. Sometimes it wasn't much of an act as we got a giant MB castle one year and the accessories in it were very cool to give to legomen. I'm currently working on my biggest castle ever and the earth tones from that castle (and a triceritops) represent at least half of the earth tones in it.
They may not be as great as lego but beggars can't be choosers.
God bless all mothers, (remember to tell yours you love her)

When I was a lad my mother told me that if I stood around all day with my mouth open a weasel was liable to mistake it for his den and jump right in. If you have something to say, say it, otherwise, beware of weasels.

Neat post Ser Loktar - my parents never even bought me LEGO because of the price.
I never store my bricks together, simply because I don't like to grab them when I am trying to make something - they don't fit so well.
But in my story, I do mix them with both the figs and the bricks because of the storyline/effect/etc etc etc (maybe a bit of laziness too).

Mega Bloks weren't available in Japan, where I grew up, and I was "brand-aware" by the time we moved to the States that I can honestly say I've never owned a single Mega Blok.

I have lots of Mega Bloks, (pre-Cobi) Best-Lock, and some Tyco.
However, I sorted out all the Mega Bloks and Best-Lock a few years ago; I haven't gotten rid of them yet because I need to make sure I didn't sort out any LEGO with them.
The Tyco I kept with LEGO because the quality is on par—just about. Now that I'm getting more LEGO though, I don't have to use the Tyco for support as much anymore (I didn't let it be visible anyway); so I've started sorting that out as well.
I myself don't think the clone toys are 'evil'—they can't harm LEGO's sales now that they've already been bought. The clone companies, however, are evil.
When I was younger, I didn't care at all about which brand I got. I just wanted whatever looked cool (which happened to be Blok Bots[MB] and the Best-Lock military stuff [only a small amount of this]; along with LEGO, of course). The Tyco bricks were given to me before I ever got a real LEGO set—back when I was three or four. Even before that, I had some of those super-giant Mega Bloks.
Anyway, I'm now reformed.
I won't use them again, but I won't brand anyone who does as a sinner.

When I was a real small boy I think I got a Mega-Blok set as a present, hardly played with it. I purchased 2 on my own though a little bit after, a Viking Ship which had a interesting hull and this Christmas set I got at Target on clearence, it was something like 1000 pieces for $10. At that age I could not resist and had little idea the difference between the brands. Now I avoid them like the plague.

Hello!
Naturally I have never mixed Lego and Megabloks. They have not been available over here. I think, though, mixing Lego with Megabloks is not different from mixing Lego with Little Armory or similiar non-Lego parts.
Recently I got some Lego from the United States, and it was contaminated with Tyco. That all went into the trash bin. Only the Tyco-crap of course.
Qualitywise Lego tries hard (and more and more achieves) to reach Megabloks’ standards.
Bye

The difference is: Lego bricks have "Lego" written on the studs. Megabloks don’t.menono wrote:I never knew the difference
