Wow........but i cant help thinking we have been tricked.....show your proof but i am believing what i am beliving......someone could have easily have took a hand full of normal castle figs then rumaged for some bricks.....put them together and made a jester and a peasent women......Oh and who ever said if it was a fake that people would get so excited, so it must not be a fake...........your wrong beacuse i see a ton of people getting exicted..........those pieces that look new can be old actullay, or customized.....its very simple........look at peoples MOCs.....they make their own figs.....so why cant anyone make their own peasent fig? also just thinking why would lego show all of their figs on the box shouldnt it be a surpise and were is all the other things in the picture like an anvil or something why just figs........someone could have easliy done this on photoshop or whatever you call it.........oh and ps in the castle thats a tree you can tell if you find a better quilty of the picture....... oh but if it is real i am getting it :D

Found another little thing! http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Megla ... tle075.jpg

I don't know... that jester hat looks a little suspicious to me... I would love it if they made a hat like that, but I'm not so sure they actually would...

Plus, with the new year and Christmas over with... I think that if this was real LEGO would have put it out by now...

Still, the graphics on the box are pretty good, so I will hold out some hope. 8)

ericgizmo: that's good info. The numbers on sets tell in what order they were built. This could mean were going to be seeing a LOT more sets, or they've decided to use random numbers.

It looks good, but the joker is the only thing (and the witch) that make me think it's fake. But only the end of the year will tell. (We should ressurect this to show the answer  )

Why can't it be LEGO? And also, most preliminary LEGO sets usually have decals and clay molds (or an older piece that is similar). For example, the first images of Knights Kingdom II, all of the knights all had decal armor, regular swords and the old school helmets.
Oh and who ever said if it was a fake that people would get so excited, so it must not be a fake...........your wrong beacuse i see a ton of people getting exicted..........
What Athos said was that if it was a fake, people usually make it extremely extravagant and over the top, which this set is not.
also just thinking why would lego show all of their figs on the box shouldnt it be a surpise and were is all the other things in the picture like an anvil or something why just figs........
They are following in the same suit as the last three mini-fig advent calenders. 2005 2006 2007
someone could have easliy done this on photoshop or whatever you call it.........
Usually it is easy to tell if it is fake, but this is amazingly done. And anyways it came from a source that has never been wrong.
oh but if it is real i am getting it :D
Well you definitely will, come September. :D

Look at the boxes.....notice how the numbers are different.
This is because it is following the "79" suit of the more recent advent calender numbers.

If this is true, then this is definitely a great end of year surprise for 2008. That said, I'm a little dubious. One thing that no one has seemed to mention is that the first prototype images, especially of sets set to come out in almost a year, are not usually already in box form. This might be different, though, being an Advent calendar and everything. I sincerely hope that it's real.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think last year's Advent Calendar pictures surfaced early too...

There's a first time for everything.... But I'm sure it's real, and I think LEGO wanted people to know, for advertisment reasons.

There are times when it is appropriate to give people the benefit of the doubt. Considering that the info is apparently coming from the same source as many of the other new sets, I have a hard time believing that this is just another trumped up scam. I find that far too many people are quick to call hoax on everything simply to say 'I told you so' should rumors be proven to be false.

The fact that this is coming from somebody who has on a consistent basis provided accurate information suggests to me personally that I should give him the benefit of the doubt. I find it very unlikely that such an individual would simply decide to pull a hoax after providing so many other images of new 2008 sets.

If the source is reliable, why should one be reluctant to trust them?

I am skeptical as well, as much as I would love to have many of these sets. If it is true (on S@H or in stores) someone will point it out here and then we'll all buy it. Until then we'll have to wait.

Anybody know why the "Good Wizard" is not available in the US but is in Europe?

As for the impulse, we have the knight and magician, those are the two...not to mention the other one out later in the year...am I missing two that you know of?
There's 5 impulse sets (so far):
-The Wizard LINK
-The Knight LINK
-The Orc/Troll LINK
-The Skeleton Chariot LINK
-The Soldier & Catapult LINK
Actually, I think that it could hint at a bigger set. It seems highly unusual to have three new torso prints (the jester, peasant girl and witch) in just the advant calender. I'm wondering whether there is another set we haven't seen yet that will feature these characters.
I hope so. The advent calendar looks great and all but it would seem kind of a waste to make 3 new minifigs and not use them in at least 1 more set. So I'd agree with you, I think there will be another "special" castle set in 2008.

That's true... I guess I'm a little hesitant (never having known about the source in the first place) so I'll believe him. I'm sorry if I ever doubted. Merry Christmas to all...
