Castle 2007 MOCed Army *New archers 22Sept*

Post by Troy T. Moore »

Before the sets were available I was amassing dark blue legs and arms to make the soldiers the way I wanted them to be.

Plumes are essential for the visored knights and I think white looks best of the colours we currently have

The troops I have collected so far (I like to have 100-120 per army)

I am hoping we will get metallic bullet helms for archers. The metallic helms and dark blue are quite striking.

Nice army! The color scheme is very imposing.

Are the horse helms from the Castle 2007 line? If so, it's to bad they didn't resurrect the original horse helm style...

Nice. The dark blue most certainly goes well with these....

Is the other blue on the shields medium, like Jayko?

I believe the horse helms were first introduced during the KKI period.

I know, they were. I was just wondering if they were also used in the 2007 line.

My mistake, I misread your post. Yes they are used in 2007 line. One of the sets it appears in is 7009 Final Joust.

This is a very impressive army. I like the use of the white plumes, as they add class and something extra to the knights without making the design look too busy.

That army is growing well :) white plumes were indeed the best choice here. The infantry looks good too.
Between plotting to kill you all and chasing balls of yarn, I also build MOCs

i thought i had a big crownknight army, but yours is much bigger!

I think blue plumes are the best to use with the new knights, but white ones are also nice !

The new torsos look great with the dark blue legs, good choice. I'll bet all those white plumes run into money!

60 infantry and 8 heavy calvary plus a mounted seargant at arms to command the infantry.

If so, it's to bad they didn't resurrect the original horse helm style...
I do like the old style better as these look almost spacey/mechanical, but seeing as this what we have, it'll have to do.
Is the other blue on the shields medium, like Jayko?
I believe that it is and i toyed with the idea of going that route for a colour to accent the dark blue. Dark colours are just too nice though

I bought 8 of the joust sets, 5 of the crossbow attack, 1 catapult, and 1 skeleton carriage...and 40some infantry from BL. As far as cost, enough, but oh so worth it. (in other words I don't keep track).
I'll bet all those white plumes run into money!
I had several already from my years of buying Castle LEGO. I did BL another 8 and they were expensive and should be here next week. Yes that does mean I do plan on expanding the calvary.

I think you all will agree that this faction is impressive in any number. A regal well equipped bunch of troops is easily attainable for almost all of us with the currently available sets at very reasonable prices. I look forward to seeing your armies as well.

Yeah, I was thinking that if I got enough new guys (I don't have any yet :() for a good-sized army, I'd use medium blue arms/legs for an elite "King's Guard," or something. Or maybe checkered with dark blue....
