Death and Taxes

Post by LORD DOOM »

Hi Guys! (And Gals Too!)

Here's my most recent MOC.

These pictures are on a new FlickR account I had to sign up for because there was some problem with my Yahoo ID.

Anyway I hope you enjoy my most recent fortress! :)

I call it "Death and Taxes," because it's got a little violence and its got a little greed.

~ DOOM

EDIT: This design began as a contest entry but I started going too far over the piece limit and couldn't stop myself from building. :) So I forfeit the contest in leu of this here MOC.

Very nice! Usually fortresses built on raised baseplates leave a lot to be desired, but yours pulls it off very nicely. Lots of detail in there that I still have to go over, but the quick peeks I took show a good MOC. Keep it up!

Great looking fortress. Looks like the crusaders picked a bad place to have a fortress. The forestmen could just move right in if they win. The action is good, and I like the little features in the moat. Terrific all around.

Very nice! I liked your use of the red flags as tiles. You managed to fit a great deal of action into the set, while not making it look too crowded and chaotic.

I agree - this is a nice creation with a lot of good action and smart building. I'm not sure why, but my favorite part is actually the croc picture, with the dragon pieces partially submerged below water - I've never seen that before!

Well done~

I really like this. There's a lot going on in there. You really have to look at all the pictures to discover everything. That croc is awesome too.

Hells yeah! :)

Awesome castle, DOOM. The building is very nice; but my favorite part is the new 'dark' or modern Crusaders. Cool forestboat too.

Very nice fortress DOOM :D Some great building techniques there, and it's full of action which is always good. Lots to look at. I love the walkway behind the gate by the way.

Awesome work, Micah. This is definitely your best so far. Great castle with a slightly irregular shape & nice use of raised baseplate. I like how it is more verticle than spread out shape wise too, good use of space. Cool minifig details too, there's heaps of action going on there.

Great work! As others have said, the baseplate works well here, and the croc is just awesome. I also like what you did with the bricks in this pic. I'll have to try that sometime. :)

This is a really great MOC. It looks like something LEGO would make if they had a sudden burst of creativity and exceptional talent. The colour scheme is great, and I really like your idea for photographing outside.

At first look it does look like a set. Though it is a bit cramped and I don't particularly like raised base plates, I like this moc. Well done.

Hey, very nice, Doom! I really like how parts of it seem to be very classic-ish, but some parts are very much related to the new castle line. The inclusion of the gold slopes really helps this, and ties it all together nicely. Overall, a great MOC!
