Dwarf Hill

Post by RebelRock »

The new Dwarf Mine set is awesome but I wanted to take that world just a little further away from a conflict situation to a more civilian scene. Here's something I've been messing around with for the last couple days. This hill is also the entrance to a mine that goes deep underground.

 That's amazing Rocko. I really like your use of the dwarves from the Castle Mine. The windows really add to the effect too.

Supercool. This is totally awesome, you did a good job of making the set one with a good inclusive hill and terrain. The smithy and the Door to the mines are incorporated nicely. Are those mine cars so cool? You took one of the greatest sets and made it even cooler.

This is really good and I am excited to see what else we build for the Dwarves. I am working on something dwarvish too.

Is the lady a shorty too? If so, with which parts did you accomplish it?

Nice! I notice the 4 Orcs so that must mean you bought at least 2 Dwarf Mine sets. I'm jealous :D

I think this is the first dwarf MOC I've seen. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I like how you made the mine cart rail. But I'm not a big fan of the house part of the cave. Just a personal choice.

Anyways, great job!

Me as well - and what a perfect first MOC to see them in! A lot of good action, with some hints of what may happen in the near future with the goblins (orcs/whatever) and the princess and the arriving guests... I really like their eyes - they seem quite beady and evil.

Really nice landscaping also - I like the way you used the BURPS for the hill - it looks quite natural.

This is also the first chance I had to see that mining cart too - nice stuff.

I'm not sure why, but the dwarf with the red beard/hair looks a bit strange to me... I think it's because I always expect dwarves to have long hair - although I'm not sure why.

Anyway, very nice creation here - that tower is cool too.

This is excellent RebelRock! I like the way you expanded upon the Dwarf Mining set while maintaining some of the original elements. Lots of great little details as always to take in. The BURP mountain looks great, especially with the windows, stairs/doorway and tower hinting at internal structure. The only part of the landscaping that I would add to is the tree on top. Some additional foliage would give more visual interest to the upper level of the MOC.

Another inspiring diorama sir!

What everyone else said!

Plus, I really like the way you rendered the stairs. Very pleasing to the eye.

Well done.

Well I'm sure others have made dwarf-based MOCs before, but RebelRock's Dwarf Hill has to be the first official dwarf MOC! :D

I like how this creation can be viewed on all 4 sides - there isn't a front or a back. The big rock pieces are used skillfully because although I know they're there, I can barely pick them out! And like others have said, you've done a superb job on landscaping (like all your other MOCs).

Excellent MOC. I like the way you've built upon the set, and made it your own!!! Overal the thing is fantastic, my only criticism is the lack of landscaping at the base of the 'cliffs'. But that's only a slight issue with me.

EDIT: Actually, after reviewing it once more, I do like the landscaping you have going on there! That's my mistake. :D

Great idea for a MOC. Cool layout.
Dwarves can't do anything without some orcs showing up to ruin the day.
