Tower on the Border

Post by Elbee »

Actually something I put together several weeks back, after discovering MOCpages. The pieces come primarily from 6081 King's Mountain Fortress, which is ... pretty much my only source for parts at the moment. :P The BURPs along the bottom are from a Ninja set or two.

At any rate, it's a small, fortified watchtower in some rocky, mountainous fringe of Crusader territory. Garrison consists of twelve men: Three knights (including the commander), two sergeants, four men-at-arms, two archers and the commander's aged personal servant.

Critiques, tips, etc., more than welcome. Give the newbie some building advice.

This is a good effort, given the limited amount of bricks.

Some improvements I would suggest:
- Add a little bit of detailing in the walls. For instance, if you use dark grey plates to make the floors, this makes dark lines between the different levels. I like that effect.
- Add a railing to the stairs

Best regards,
Stefan

You do mean Brickshelf gallery right? :D
The style of it reminds me a lot of an official lego set for some reason. Like Astu said you have done an excellent job for the amount of bricks. Hope to see more from you.

I like the tower, especially the barracks and armory down below in the BURP section. It's just such homilies that make this so much fun.

Thank you. I'm actually awaiting delivery from several BrinkLink stores already.

Me, too. I think it's because it tries to incorporate several castle features in such a small area (16x32) - main tower, small 'living' quarter, watch tower, and then inside, barracks, armory/stores, mess hall and study - without having enough space to perhaps fully develop any one of them. It has the "cramped" feel of an official LEGO castle set.

All it needs is a catapult and a jail.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I'll keep them in mind for creation #2, as soon as those orders arrive...
