Castle Chess Set $10 Off in US
Castle Chess Set $10 Off in US
For US buyers, the Chess Set is now $39.99 saving you $10. Maybe in response to the new Chess Set being leaked?

It's on sale at the Canada option too: C$54.99!!! That's a 37% markup on the US price. Considering that the Loonie is at par or stronger against the Greenback, that's a tad excessive.

No kidding, I got mine for $50, and a month later it's $40! This is good, as it is a fast way of making Crown and Skellie armies (which I like to pit against BF)lil Jon wrote:I saw that. I'm thinking about it but I know the second I grab one, it will drop even lower.

Yeah I saw this as well. The local Lego Store has about 10 at this price. I am tempted to get another one.
I hate to be a braggart, but I got a chess set from said Lego Store which had been damaged in between the factory and the store for $25. The case was damaged, but the figures were in perfect condition. Talk about super good luck!

Yeah, i am getting this set for sure, i just contacted the Lego store and asked them if they plane on the chess set price being lowered down to 50% off. They said they weren't in charge of pricing, so i asked them who is in charge and how i can contact them. I am waiting for a response now.

It is tough to pass up a dicounted castle set. Even it is $10 off as in the castle chess set. Since I have still have not gotten the castle, skeleton ship, or the dwarf mine, (is it really discontinued?) I am holding off on getting more chess sets. Hopefully the price can be discounted again.

I just bought one, too. I didn't want to risk it going the way of Castle Tic Tac Toe.
Even at $40, it was still the most expensive LEGO set I've ever purchased (!!!). Yup, just coming out of their dark ages, that's me...
Many forum-ers seem to think that it will eventually drop to half off, and I'm sure you are all more knowledgeable about that sort of thing than I am, so maybe it will, but again - I didn't want to risk not being able to get it. If that makes sense...
Can't wait for it to arrive!

I collect LEGO themes that start with "C." And Pirates. I call them "Corsairs."

I've been collecting LEGO since I can remember (Ok, I'm only 16 now, but still..) and I just purchased my most expensive set last year; Castle '07's Dwarves' Mine (Picked up two, actually), the most expensive set I had bought other than that was a Star Wars set when I was about 11, I think it cost $30-$35.
I haven't made my purchase of these sets yet, and before I do get any could somebody tell me how much glue there is in this set?
The Vikings set had the glued baseplate, glued queens, and the brick-built chess pieces were glued. I'm sure the board is still glued in this one, but any word on the other parts?
Thanks!
