Hi Marco, welcome to CC. Glad to have you here.

There were wooden castles, lots actually. Most early Motte and Bailey castles were wooden. I have seen some MOCs that were done that way, with the log walls from Legoredo and such, but I can't find them right now. Maybe some of the other members will be able to find them.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you build!

Take care,
Josh

Very cool. Has a very Rohan feel.

Are these lego pieces pictured in the tower?

Wooden castles are historic, especially earlier on, 12th/13th century earlier. They linger outside mainstream europe for castles for some time after the medieval period and some communities never lose them even there. Once cannons come into their own wood and earth fortifications start to become more common in use as they take the impact as they are softer.

Those MOCs are pretty cool. Sadly I know of few Lego MOCs with wooden castles. There was a really cool one with an outer castle wall of wood but I could not find it.

My original version of Olamic Castle had a wooden wall around it. It proved perfect for fending off the pillaging vikings
