In my dream, minifig Elves paddle swan-boats on idyllic midsummer rivers, and LEGO Castle sets include plants and landscaping! And everyone gets free ice cream!

Funny choice of head for the elf though; it works, but I never pictured Cary Grant (who that head has reminded me of since the first version way back in '02) as one of them.

Excellent work. Do I see inspiration from Lord of the Rings? It looks a lot like the ones in the movie.

The tree is real simple. On top of the three slopes which you can easily see in the picture, there is a stack of old-school finger hinges radiating randomly in all directions, with one large leaf piece on the hanging partner of each hinge pair. Then at the top I just slapped on two more leaves. I wasn't sure it would work when I tried it but I think it looks good!

As for the face (if you'll allow me to wax poetical) I think it looks wise, aged (but not elderly), and handsome, with a touch of sorrow, which makes it about perfect for a Tolkienesque Elf. Different interpretations may of course be valid!

That's very nice. Now to truly make this an awesome set the Elf should come with a bow and knife and there should be a Ork hiding behind the tree.

I love this great little MOC. I love the brickbuilt-ness of it, but I wonder how the hippogriff wings would've looked on the sides of the gondola. Nah, forget it, it's perfect the way it is. When do we get the free ice cream?

Now there's an idea. I had played around with a few wing ideas, but I couldn't find any that I liked that worked. I didn't consider hippogriff wings because (a) I don't own any and (b) they don't exist in white, but maybe they can add it when this becomes a set! Haha!

When do we get the free ice cream?

A boat!

I always like any kind of Lego boats or ships, and this one is particularly nice.

Like others here, I immediately thought Lorien as well, especially with the malorn tree.

I don't mind the elf's face - in fact, it's one of my favourites of the newer "expressive" faces Lego seems to be doing now.

The railings are very well done, but how did you attach the bow and stern pieces? This is a technique that I'd like to try with some of my boats.

Same old finger hinges that I used on the tree! The railings and the other hull pieces keep them from flopping about randomly.
